10 Tim Burton Movie Trademarks We Want To See Return In Beetlejuice 2

Beetlejuice 2 will see the return of director Tim Burton, meaning that these 10 staples of the director’s filmography also need to return.

In addition to those returning for Beetlejuice 2, the film will also introduce a number of new characters. One such new face is Jenna Ortega, who will play Astrid Deetz, the daughter of Beetlejuice protagonist Lydia Deetz. The film will also introduce Monica Bellucci as Beetlejuice’s wife, Willem Dafoe as a “police officer in the afterlife,” and Justin Theroux in a role that has not been specified.

By combining familiar and new faces, Beetlejuice 2 has the opportunity to play upon the nostalgia of the original film while still maintaining originality. Starring in Wednesday, Ortega already has a lot of star pull for her age, which will hopefully translate into a compelling performance as Astrid. Thus, the newer cast has the opportunity to deliver just as much gravitas as the original Beetlejuice cast members, which will help the sequel succeed.
