The landmark anime Cowboy Bebop is officially celebrating its 25th anniversary with a brand new special edition Blu-Ray collection. While Bebop was short-lived, its 26-episode run gave viewers a captivating Space Western bolstered with jazz, likable characters, and a fascinating detective noir hook. The series even managed to get a movie, fittingly titled Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, that was just as critically acclaimed as the show. Now Cowboy Bebop is officially celebrating its 25th anniversary, and a new collector’s edition is about to hit store shelves for the biggest fans of the Bebop crew.
According to Comic Book Resources, Crunchyroll made an announcement of a brand-new Cowboy Bebop collector’s set. The set will retail for $63.74 and releases on April 4th. This new edition of the classic anime will be packaged “in a metallic collector’s box.” Inside the set is five discs that contain every episode of the series, including the “‘lost episode‘ titled ‘Session #0‘” to complete the collections of every Cowboy Bebop fan. What’s even cooler though is that this set also contains five art cards that give buyers the opportunity to customize their boxset by swapping out the interchangeable cover with whichever artwork they like best. Cowboy Bebop’s New Boxset Comes With a Variety of Special Features
Like most anniversary editions, Cowboy Bebop‘s new release will come with a wide variety of special features to please the most die-hard fans. These will include interviews with the cast and crew of the series about the making of the hit anime; as well as audio commentaries for different episodes with guests including “director Shinichiro Watanabe, composer Yoko Kanno and the voice casts for the original Japanese and English dub.” For fans of Cowboy Bebop‘s beloved opening, there will also be an option for them to play it without selecting an episode in a creditless feature that will have people blasting the iconic theme “Tank!” by Seatbelts over and over again.
The most defining feature of this set though is a brand-new retrospective video exclusive to the 25th-anniversary collection. This exclusive video will send fans on a trip down memory lane as it recounts the storied history of the series over the past 25 years.
