Cosmo Jarvis’ Next Project Is Nothing Like Shogun, But It Will Have A Double Dose Of Robert De Niro

Shōgun star Cosmo Jarvis has an exciting project following the FX historical drama’s conclusion, and while it’s going to have a very different premise, he’ll excitedly be co-starring alongside Robert De Niro. Cosmo Jarvis plays one of the leads in the Shōgun cast as John Blackthorne, an English ship captain who winds up in Japan just in time for one of the most significant events in the country’s history. The 34-year-old British actor has been praised for his unique and often over-the-top performative acting in the limited series, which will have its final episode on April 23.

Cosmo Jarvis has been acting in movies and shows since 2010, though he’s yet to have as prominent of a role as Blackthorne in Shōgun. The actor played minor characters in big shows like Peaky Blinders and Raised by Wolves and minor roles in feature films like Annihilation, but Shōgun is his first starring performance. Given the show’s overwhelming praise and popular appeal, it could be a turning point for Cosmo Jarvis’s career, leading to more promising roles. He already has two upcoming films that could be intriguing.

Cosmo Jarvis Will Star Alongside Robert De Niro In Alto Knights After Shogun Ends

Cosmo Jarvis Will Co-Star In A Mafia Crime Thriller With Acting Legend Robert De Niro

Cosmo Jarvis’s following project, after Shōgun, will be Alto Knights, directed by Barry Levinson and co-starring acting legend Robert De Niro. With the film’s 1950s period setting, it’ll continue Jarvis’s historical fiction trend, but it’ll have a vastly different premise as a gangster crime thriller. As one of the greatest actors of all time, many of Robert De Niro’s best movies have been legendary crime epics like The Godfather Part II and Goodfellas. For a young star like Cosmo Jarvis, appearing in a gangster flick with De Niro is an incredibly exciting career step.

In Alto Knights, Cosmo Jarvis and Robert De Niro will both play real-life mobsters Vincent Gigante and Vito Genovese, respectively. They’ll also be joined by more mob media royalty, including Kathrine Narducci and Matt Servitto, who played vital roles in HBO’s The Sopranos. The gangster genre hasn’t been as popular in recent years, but an acclaimed filmmaker like Barry Levinson paired with a top-notch cast is the best way to revitalize it.
