Community: What Alison Brie Has Done Since The Series Ended

Alison Brie may have risen to prominence as a lead character in Community, but the actress continues making a name for herself in the world of TV and film. Brie portrayed Annie Edison in all six seasons of Dan Harmon’s comedy series before it came to an end in 2015. Before starring in the series, Brie graduated college with a degree in theater and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She starred in a short film before acquiring her first official gig playing a hairdresser on a 2006 episode of Hannah Montana. Shortly after, she was cast as Trudy Campbell on Mad Men.

Brie continued working as a recurring character on Mad Men when she booked Community in 2009. In the years that followed, she also kept up with movies and other TV gigs. In 2011, Brie appeared in Scream 4 before moving on to Save the DateThe Five-Year Engagement, and Montana Amazon in 2012. Nearing the end of Community, Brie also worked on The Kings of Summer, The Lego Movie, and Search Party. As for TV, Brie’s other roles outside of Community and Mad Men came in the form of voice work. She voiced characters in Robot Chicken, American Dad!, High School USA!, and Axe Cop.

Just before Community concluded, Brie began voicing the character of Diane Nguyen in BoJack Horseman. She has since regretted the decision to voice the character for six years due to the conversation regarding appropriate representation. Both Community and Mad Men came to an end in 2015 but that didn’t slow down the actress. Instead, she continued splitting her time between movies and TV. That same year, she appeared in a handful of films including Sleeping with Other People, Get Hard, and No Stranger Than Love. In addition to her 2016 work in How to Be Single, Get a Job, and A Family Man, Brie had a guest role on the TV series, Doctor Thorne.

2017 turned out to be a monumental year for Brie when it came to her career and personal life. Not only did she marry fellow actor Dave Franco, but she also worked with him on The Disaster Artist. That same year, she was also seen in The Little Hours and The Post. On the small screen, Brie reunited with her Community co-star, Ken Jeong, on Dr. Ken. Most notably, the actress scored a leading role of Ruth Wilder in the Netflix comedy-drama, GLOW. She then ended the decade by reprising her role as Princess Unikitty for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.

Earlier this year, Brie starred in the Netflix drama, Horse Girl, a movie she also wrote and executive produced. She was also seen in the thriller, Promising Young Woman, alongside Carey Mulligan and Bo Burnham. Next up, Brie will be found in The Rental, a horror movie developed and directed by her husband. Later this year, Brie is set to appear in a rom-com titled Happiest Season and the fourth and final season of GLOW. Of course, there’s also growing talks of a Community sequel movie so it’s always possible Brie will reprise her role as Annie sometime in the near future.
