Comic-Con 2010 ‘Masters of the Web’ Panel Announced

One aspect of the San Diego Comic-Con we most look forward to is the Masters of the Web panel. It features some of the most influential personalities in the movie website world in a Q&A discussion about web journalism as it pertains to entertainment. As was the case in 2009, our fearless leader Vic Holtreman will be on the panel alongside seven other folks who are either site owners, senior editors or senior writers for movie news sites.

Edgar Wright and Roberto Orci will moderate the panel and AMC’s John Campea will host. The panel has been reduced from 11 to 8 this year. Those scheduled to attend include Edward Douglas (Coming Soon), Mike Sampson (JoBlo), Erik Davis (Cinematical), George “El Guapo” Roush (Latino Review), Vic Holtreman (Screen Rant), Devin Faraci (CHUD), Jamie Williams (IESB) and Jen Yamato (Movies.com). Jen is the first woman to grace the Masters of the Web panel.

The panel is set for Thursday, July 22nd at 3:00 pm in Room 32 A&B. For the first time, AMC will videotape the panel in case you don’t get a chance to see it in person.

Beyond the panel, two fantastic prizes are available for lucky fans in attendance.

1) Passes to the annual ‘Wrath of Con’ party.  This party has become ‘THE’ party to attend at Comic-Con.  Last year even ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’, ‘Angel’ and ‘Serenity’ mastermind Joss Whedon couldn’t get in. But there is hope! A handful of exclusive invitations to the party will be given out to a few lucky attendees.

2) AMC Theatres Annual Pass.  At least one attendee will walk away from the panel with an AMC Theatres pass good for a year of free movies for the winner and a guest at any AMC Theatre nationwide.

Last year’s panel discussed a variety of topics from behind-the-scenes operations of the blogosphere to the future of web journalism. This is the premier opportunity for fans to ask the minds behind the sites anything and everything.

There is also the possibility of a surprise guest or two, as Brandon Routh and Anita Briem joined the panel last year. Edgar Wright and Roberto Orci are quite enough to get fans salivating, but the focus of Masters of the Web will be the opportunity to discuss topics with movie news site runners.
