“Come On Back And See”: Halo Star Sends Message To Game Fans Disappointed In Season 1

Halo season 2 star Pablo Schreiber reveals that the forthcoming is a massive improvement on the divisive season 1. Based on the hugely successful video game franchise of the same name, the Halo TV series premiered in March 2022 with nine episodes that featured an extensive cast list that includes Jen Taylor, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, and Schrieber, who plays the show’s main protagonist.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, Schreiber, who plays Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, encourages fans of the franchise, gamers especially, who were disappointed in the first season of this game adaptation to give Halo season 2 a chance. The Master Chief actor also shares that he’s fully committed to making the show the best version of what it can be. Read his full comments below:

As far as what to say to gamers, come on back and see the differences between Season 1 and Season 2 and see if you like it. And as far as the feedback that came in, it was massive and across the board. The show was incredibly well received internationally as well as domestically, but the numbers we did internationally for Paramount+ are off the charts and insane. So, we’re pretty happy with where we landed in terms of feedback and in terms of business that we did for the network.

And now, it’s about creating the kind of show that we all can be the most proud of and that’s a mission that I never give up on. I’m going to push that until I die or until I’m asked to leave. I want to make the best show possible, and I want to try to surround myself with people that are helping do that.

The Halo Season 1 Controversy Explained

“Come On Back And See”: Halo Star Sends Message To Game Fans Disappointed In Season 1

The controversy surrounding this video game adaptation is one that had already begun even before the show officially premiered in 2022. Back in 2019, when production for the TV show was reportedly underway, some were displeased when news broke about actors being cast for roles that did not match visually to the games.

Following the release of Halo season 1, the controversy surrounding the video game adaptation gained even more momentum. Long-time fans of the franchise were especially displeased that the show veered off from the core ideas, themes, and character arcs that originally defined the franchise. By introducing new characters and story elements, the show ultimately ignored much of the source material, leaving many dissatisfied.
