Christopher Knight Admits He Was ‘Reluctant’ To Go On Masked Singer

The Masked Singer stayed true to their TV Night theme when The Brady Bunch stars were revealed as the Mummies, but Christopher Knight almost didn’t participate. The night was full of fun nods to iconic TV shows, including appearances from Full House actress Jodie Sweetin and Beverly Hills, 90210 star Tori Spelling, who appeared on The Masked Singer season 1 as the Unicorn. Panelist Robin Thicke gave a heartwarming performance of the Growing Pains theme song in honor of his late father, Alan Thicke, who starred in the sitcom. Though, as always, the unmaskings were the most exciting part of the episode.

Fans were excited to see Bobby, Peter, and Greg Brady together again, though one of the brothers almost didn’t appear on The Masked Singer stage. In an exit interview with Hollywood Life, Christopher revealed he’s the “reluctant one when it comes to music.” The actor said the show specifically wanted all three of them to compete as a group. “I just had to, in real Brady Bunch fashion, disappoint them,” Christopher said. Luckily, he quickly changed his mind realizing it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with his costars on stage.

The Brady Bunch Was The Perfect Addition To The Masked Singer TV Night

The Brady Bunch is likely the most well-known of all the shows referenced during The Masked Singer TV Night. The series aired from 1969 through 1974 and followed a blended family living in the Los Angeles suburbs. After hearing the three sing, panelist Nicole Scherzinger was positive the Brady brothers were under the Mummies costumes. Robin later agreed with Nicole’s guess, and they were both excited when they were proven correct. Fortune Teller was the other contestant eliminated during the episode and was revealed to be Shark Tank investor Daymond John.

TV Night was another reason The Masked Singer season 8 has been one of the best yet. It’s always more fun to watch the show when the revealed celebrities are widely known. Fans were disappointed when season 7 didn’t have too many recognizable faces. It seems like the show producers are making up for it with The Masked Singer season 8. The Brady Bunch actors are arguably the most famous faces on the season yet.

After the actors and Daymond were eliminated, Harp officially moved on to the semi-finals. Her success is no surprise, as she’s blown panelists and fans away each week with her powerhouse vocals. It seems evident that Amber Riley is behind the golden string costume, and even The Masked Singer panelists have started to catch on. There’s a good chance the singer-actress may take home the masked trophy at the end of season 8. Glee was one of the most popular shows on television in the late 2000s and early 2010s, so some fans may argue Amber is just as notable on The Masked Singer as The Brady Bunch stars.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 pm EST on Fox.
