Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: Every Part 4 Episode Ranked (According To IMDb)

Fans had big hopes for Part 4 of Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina. After watching Sabrina come into herself as a witch, battle dangerous villains, and come out a victor, there was one last group of episodes meant to follow the end of everything. Part 4 held massive twists for Sabrina and Roz, as change comes upon them unexpectedly. Meanwhile, Ambrose, Nick, Harvey, and Theo try to keep up with the quickly changing world around them as everything they know is threatened. In its entirety, Part 4 has plenty of important moments, but it also struggles in ways. Not everyone gets the ending they deserve, and the series concludes in a quite morbid way.

Several arguments highlight how killing Sabrina in the finale is problematic and not revolutionary.  Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina didn’t need a traditional happy ending, but the entire finale ends on a sour note. This is every episode of Part 4 ranked, according to IMDb.

At The Mountains Of Madness (5.4)

Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: Every Part 4 Episode Ranked (According To IMDb)

The finale isn’t only the lowest score in Part 4, “At The Mountains Of Madness” is also the lowest-rated episode in the entire series. A series finale needs to tie up loose ends and substantially conclude the show’s characters and world. Unfortunately, “At The Mountains Of Madness” doesn’t quite manage to. Every episode has led to the possibility of reality coming to an end and being swallowed by The Void. Sabrina plans to go into The Void and destroy it from within. Unfortunately, she doesn’t finish the job before being pulled back into her world, with one problematic twist: The Void exists within her. Sabrina’s choice to risk her life to save all those she had sent to The Void ends with her tragic death.

The other main characters don’t really have a solid conclusion other than mourning Sabrina. Yet, one of the most controversial moments is the final scene. Nick arrives in the afterlife, telling Sabrina that he had died while going for a swim. Except, Nick’s explanation is vague and doesn’t explicitly say if his death was accidental or purposeful. Instead, their conversation implies that Nick had committed suicide to be with Sabrina again. Such a storyline comes across as romanticizing suicide, and that is not a positive message Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina should be sending its audience.

The Returned (7.2)

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina The Returned Prudence and Dorcas

“The Returned” does not do a lot for pushing the story forward compared to other episodes in Part 4. Several characters, some significant and some not, are brought back to life, at least temporarily. Prudence has an emotional reunion with Dorcas. Harvey, Roz, Theo, and Robin compete in a battle of the bands against the dead band, Satanic Panic, who had kidnapped Harvey’s father. Meanwhile, Sabrina’s experience may be the most difficult.

Having been raised entirely by her aunts, Sabrina had no memories of her father, so when she encountered Edward Spellman at The Academy Of Unseen Arts, she was surprised. Although Zelda and Sabrina’s responses are emotional, it is actually a sad experience for Sabrina. Edward doesn’t treat Sabrina like his daughter and instead makes several comments about how she isn’t his.

Deus Ex Machina (7.7)

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Dues Ex Machina Nick And Sabrina

Sabrina’s interactions with her Queen of Hell counterpart have not done good things for the universe, and as other realities start to crumble, the group is left with a troubling choice. One of the Sabrinas can be killed, or the two can merge back to one. Either way, no one is pleased with the concept.

However, when the two agree to merge, they wish for one more day to live their lives before the uncertainty of merging. While one Sabrina spends time with Nick, the other joins Harvey, Roz, and Theo for one last hurrah. However, rather than merging or killing one, Queen Sabrina goes through a portal to another reality, where she is met with two shocking faces.

The Eldritch Dark (7.7)

Darkness is coming to Greendale, and it is up to Sabrina to stop it. To prevent the upcoming darkness, Sabrina and Ambrose team up with Sabrina’s Queen of Hell counterpart.

Even though it is dangerous for the two to interact, as Ambrose warns Sabrina several times, desperate times call for desperate measures. While the three try to trap the Darkness, Nick leads Sabrina’s mortal friends and Robin in temporarily defeating the other darkness entities until Sabrina can succeed in her mission.

The Imp Of Perverse (7.8)

The Perverse

When Father Blackwood wishes for a world where he is already in charge, everything changes. Yet, somehow, Sabrina and Roz are aware of the differences, living slightly outside the bubble of those affected. In Blackwood’s terrifying world, he has made mortals terrified of witches, making them believe they are only capable of evil. Among those who follow Blackwood is Harvey.

Meanwhile, the Eldritch Terror also affects The Academy Of Unseen Arts and Ambrose until Ambrose crosses the town line. With Greendale’s town line being the spell’s boundary, Ambrose can remember his identity and get key information to Sabrina before falling under the spell’s influence.

The Weird (7.9)

Hilda and Zelda with their arms raised and serious expressions

Roz had always attributed her powers to being called “The Cunning.” So, she was in for a surprise when Roz learned she was actually a witch. The discovery was a massive change for Roz. Meanwhile, Sabrina decides to create happiness for herself, but in doing so, she chooses to create a boyfriend as not to be lonely. As inspiration, Sabrina gives her clay creation a personality mashup of the best of Harvey and Nick. But, that is not the only thing Sabrina has to worry about.

The third Eldritch Terror, The Weird, has arrived, and in a quite disturbing way. Sabrina had been taken over by the terror, originally tricking them by way of a trojan horse octopus. However, Ambrose realizes they had been tricked and arrives at school just in time to save Sabrina’s class from dying.

The Uninvited (7.9)

If anyone doesn’t show him kindness, they die. However, if they let him in, he will allow them to live. The Uninvited is the second Eldritch Terror to come to Greendale, and luckily, Sabrina has a somewhat strange plan to defeat him.

Turning Queen Sabrina’s ceremony into a double wedding, Sabrina tricks The Uninvited into believing he is gaining a true home where he will always be let in. Instead, Sabrina traps him in a small doll house.

The Endless (8.4)

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina The Endless Sabrina and Harvey

The penultimate episode follows Queen Sabrina’s journey in another reality. She is greeted by Sabrina, The Teenage Witch stars Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea, who reprise a version of their roles of Zelda and Hilda Spellman. “The Endless” exists in a world where everyone is an actor on a television series. The episode even has a talking Salem.

However, “The Endless” is far more dangerous than it may appear. There are no exits, and several people, including Zelda, Hilda, and Nick, answer The Void. Luckily, Queen Sabrina escapes and has just enough time to tell Sabrina Spellman about the upcoming destruction of everything before her untimely death.
