Chaos Walking Trailer Teaser Reveals Tom Holland’s Long Delayed Sci-Fi Movie

Chaos Walking trailer teaser reveals first-look footage at Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley’s long-delayed sci-fi movie. The film underwent principal photography back in 2017 and was at one point set to premiere in 2019, but it’s still yet to see the light of day. Most are aware Chaos Walking has endured various setbacks, including substantial reshoots in response to poor test screenings. But now, Chaos Walking finally appears to be on the right track, as marketing is underway. Recently, the first Chaos Walking poster was released.

Chaos Walking does not have an official release date yet, but Lionsgate is continuing to raise hype and awareness for their upcoming project. The studio confirmed on social media the first Chaos Walking trailer is set to debut later this week. As viewers wait for a full-length preview, a short tease of what to expect is now online.

IGN shared the video on Twitter, revealing the full trailer will be available on Thursday, November 19. Check out the clip in the space below:

While obviously not as comprehensive as the upcoming full-length trailer, this first-look attempts to set up the bare bones of the story. Chaos Walking is set in a dystopian future, where Todd Hewitt (Holland) is under the impression all of the women in a colony world are dead. This is why Todd’s so surprised to encounter Viola Eade (Ridley) out in the wild, setting the stage for a story of mystery and intrigue. The footage also serves as a roll call for some of the supporting cast, including Cynthia Erivo, Mads Mikkelsen, and Nick Jonas, suggesting their characters have key roles to play in the story. There’s no denying director Doug Liman assembled a top-notch cast to bring this adaptation to life, and it’ll be interesting to get a greater idea of what’s in store when the full trailer comes out later this week. There’s potential for Chaos Walking to turn into a franchise, so Lionsgate is obviously hoping it catches on with general audiences.

It’ll also be fascinating to see if the full trailer provides any details about the specifics concerning Chaos Walking’s release. The film currently has no official release date, with the poster only saying “coming soon.” Lionsgate is likely weighing all their various options before settling on a concrete plan. With coronavirus cases spiking again and more lockdowns going into effect, it’s highly unlikely Chaos Walking will be a theatrical exclusive and instead go to VOD. Regardless, if the studio is ramping up marketing efforts now, they must be planning to finally release the film in the near future.
