Channing Tatum Cast In Lost City Of D Comedy Starring Sandra Bullock

Channing Tatum has joined the cast of The Lost City of D, which is being led by Sandra Bullock. The film reportedly follows a romance author, played by Bullock, who discovers that a fictional city that she has created in her writing is a real, tangible place. It will be directed by Aaron and Adam Nee, the creators of the indie hit The Last Romantic and Band of Robbers.  Earlier this year, Ryan Reynolds was rumored to be in talks for being cast in Tatum’s role.

According to THR, Tatum is joining the film to play opposite of Bullock as her love interest, who also happens to be the main character in the book she has written. The film is being reported as being similar to “Romancing the Stone… described as an old-fashioned star vehicle as well as a screwball adventure featuring mismatched leads, witty repartee and of course, romance,” making for a hilarious rom-com that reminds audiences of the early acting work of both Tatum and Bullock.

Tatum has been on a recent spree of blockbusters and fan-favorites during the last decade, starting with two 2012 hits 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill and Magic Mike with Matthew McConaughey. He has also recently been in talks for starring in a movie based on one of Universal’s classic monsters, which will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, keeping Tatum in the public’s eye and allowing him to yet again display his range. Teaming up with Bullock in a creative rom-com that is reminiscent of Six Days, Seven Nights and Indiana Jones will allow a known version of Tatum to return to screens but with a screwball twist.
