Chainsaw Man Stole Deadpool’s Greatest Fighting Technique

Chainsaw Man Stole Deadpool’s Greatest Fighting Technique

Chainsaw Man has recently returned to weekly serialization, bringing back its cast of deranged characters and kicking off with what looks to be a massive battle in Denji’s high school. Through the fight, Denji proves to have one of Deadpool’s most unique and deadly abilities.

Chainsaw Man’s Denji has always been an eccentric combatant, often opting to battle in some of the most ridiculous ways possible. For example, his rule of thumb when fighting a man is to “always aim for the nuts.” On top of that, he has typically been shown making very spur-of-the-moment decisions when it comes to battle, acting out of natural instinct or whatever impulse is driving him at the moment. After his training with the notorious Devil Hunter, Kishibe, he seemed to become a notably better tactician, but his crazy fighting style didn’t show any signs of disappearing. This impromptu style of combat combined with his extremely impulsive nature may be exactly how Denji is going to be shown capable of using Deadpool’s most useful martial arts skill.

By far, Deadpool’s most advantageous skill in hand-to-hand combat is his complete and utter unpredictability. This level of unpredictability exists on such a level that even those with the ability to read minds and copy fighting styles have no idea what Deadpool is going to do next. Chainsaw Man chapter 108 established a major villain in the form of Yuko using the powers of the Justice Devil to commit mass murder at Denji’s high school. Her main power revolves around reading minds to predict what people will do, say, or think next. With her revival by an unknown figure at the end of the chapter, Yuko seems more powerful than ever before, leading Chainsaw Man himself to stop her in Chapter 109. What makes Chainsaw Man so deadly in that fight is exactly what makes Deadpool such a threat; they’re basically unpredictable.

Denji being able to evade and counter Yuko’s mind reading puts him on par with Deadpool’s level of unpredictability. As both of these characters could be considered highly trained fighters, the ability for them to act in a way where opponents cannot tell what their next move will be gives a massive advantage. This spontaneous movement and impulse-driven action gives Denji an insane edge when it comes to fighting opponents typically stronger than him. This power would also be completely in line with his character since Denji fights so wildly and always gives the impression he’s more concerned with other things than whatever fight is taking place at the moment.

Chainsaw Man’s Denji being able to act with complete unpredictability could make him one of the most dangerous combatants in the world. In the same way that Deadpool can defeat opponents with much more martial arts training than him just by virtue of being impossible to predict, Denji had no problem taking down Chainsaw Man’s Justice Devil.
