Celebrity Big Brother contestant Shanna Moakler responded to Carson Kressley’s apology on Instagram after Carson expressed remorse for evicting her from the house after he believed Todrick Hall’s lies that Shanna had betrayed him. When Miesha Tate won the Head of Household competition, she nominated Carson for eviction and expected that everyone, including Shanna Moakler and Chris Kirkpatrick, would vote him out. However, when Shanna won the Power of Veto, she saved Carson from eviction, clearly choosing a side in the game.
When Carson won the next HOH competition, Todrick made a deal with him to keep himself safe, but he was desperate to save Miesha from eviction as well. Todrick devised a plan to turn Carson and Cynthia against Shanna, by exposing her as a double agent. In the Diary Room, he admitted that most of his statements were exaggerations. Later in the week, Carson was evicted from the game, and he realized that he had been tricked by Todrick.
In a post on Instagram, Carson apologized to Shanna, and she graciously accepted his apology in her own post. Carson said that now that he is out of the Celebrity Big Brother house, he has had time to catch up on a lot of the things of which he was unaware. He explained that he had not seen much of the show before he became a houseguest, and that he “severely underestimated the tactics and behavior that are part of game play. Days, weeks, hours without access to family, friends and the outside world provides for bonding, sure, but it allows for a false sense of trust too and paranoia about your instinct.” Carson revealed that he met Shanna in 2008 when they worked together on Crowned, and he “loved her.” He then admitted that he never should have assumed that she was playing him, and apologized for his actions, saying, “Shame on me! I am sorry I trusted others who I thought were friends but only intended to dupe me for their own benefit.” He added that he turned not only on Shanna, but his own values regarding friendship.
In her own Instagram post, Shanna responded to Carson, and accepted his apology. She wrote, “If there is one thing I know @carsonkressley is that you have always had a huge heart and a kind soul.” She said that in all of her interviews before the show, she stated how she hoped that Carson would be in the house and that they would get the chance to play the game together. Shanna said, “I got that chance, I can’t say my feelings were not hurt and my last days in the house sad, but I do understand it’s a game. Thank you for the kind words and acknowledgment.” She then went on to say that the Celebrity Big Brother experience is one that no one can truly understand unless a person has lived it, and that it is not easy. Shanna concluded the post by saying, “Thank you for being the class act I always knew you were and I’m still taking you up on that pedicure.” Carson responded to the post with, “Thank you so much for being so gracious @shannamoakler!!! Manis and pedis for sure!”
Although Carson did not believe Shanna in the house, she has forgiven his mistake after his sincere apology. Their friendship seems strong enough that they will be able to repair any damage that Todrick may have caused. They are both class acts who understand that this was all part of the game and that they can move forward with their friendship and salon plans.
