After being the first houseguest to be evicted on Celebrity Big Brother 3, Teddi Mellencamp thanked her family for their support in two Instagram posts. Teddi is the daughter of rock star John Mellencamp and is best known for her starring role in seasons 8-10 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2017-2020. She is also the founder of a lifestyle and fitness company named “All In By Teddi,” and hosts a podcast called Two Ts In A Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge during which the women watch and analyze shows from the Housewives franchise. Teddi is married to Edwin Arroyave, the CEO and founder of Skyline Security Management. The couple have three children together, daughter, Slate, 9, son, Cruz, 7, and daughter Dove, 2. They are also raising Edwin’s daughter, Isabella, 13, together. Teddi’s family is her world, and she shares many posts on Instagram about their life together.
Teddi had a wild ride during her short time in the Celebrity Big Brother house. During the first Head of Household competition, the houseguests had to hold on to champagne bottles while they hung from the ceiling with their feet in stirrups. Teddi and Miesha “Cupcake” Tate lasted until the end of this difficult endurance competition. Teddi tried to make a deal with Miesha, asking if Miesha would keep her safe if she dropped. Miesha declined the offer, saying that it was too early to make that kind of deal, even though she had made a similar deal with Todrick Hall a few minutes earlier. Teddi dropped anyway, knowing she was probably Miesha’s target. When Miesha told Mirai Nagasu about her plan to backdoor Teddi by not nominating her for eviction and not giving her the chance to save herself, Mirai told Teddi. Teddi then told Todrick what she heard, and Todrick warned Miesha that Teddi knew about the plan. Miesha then made a deal with Teddi that she would not nominate her for eviction at the Head of Household or veto ceremonies. However, she broke that deal when she did nominate Teddi as the replacement nominee when Carson Kressley won the veto and took himself off of the chopping block. Miesha told Teddi about this plan before she did it, and Teddi was shocked by her betrayal.
In two posts on Instagram, Teddi thanked her family for their support throughout her short time on the show. In the first post, Teddi shared a black and white video in which she reunited with her daughter, Dove. They hugged and kissed and danced together while Teddi sang to her. In the caption, she thanked everyone who watched her play the game, and said that being voted out because she was considered a threat was not so bad. She then wrote, “I can say this for sure, I am so appreciative to be home and will never take for granted how incredible my life is. I missed my family and friends more than I ever could have imagined.” Teddi and Dove’s sweet reunion showed that her family missed her just as much as she missed them.
In Teddi’s second post, she shared the letters that she would have received from her family if she had won the second Head of Household competition. She said, “But being I wasn’t given the chance I’ll just continue to run my own household. Maybe snuggle with the kids in my comfy bed and tell them stories about how to play games with your heart and integrity. I had fun while it lasted!” Teddi is most likely referring to Miesha’s betrayal. Teddi then told her husband that she loved him and thanked him for putting the letters together for her. In the letters, Slate and Cruz told her all about their achievements in their school and extra-curricular activities. Edwin told her that “daddy is holding down the fort” and praised her for challenging herself. He also expressed how much he and the children love Teddi.
Teddi may not have had the chance to win the grand prize during Celebrity Big Brother 3, but she has clearly hit the jackpot with her loving family. She set a great example for her children by playing the game with integrity and grace, even giving Miesha a hug on her way out the door, despite her betrayal. Although Teddi did not meet her goals in the game, she is setting a great example as the Head of Household of her own family.
