Marvel fans have been hoping to see Captain America and Namor team up, but the story unfolding in the pages of Invaders #11 isn’t quite what they had in mind. After all, Cap is Cap no matter what. But is Namor still the King of Atlantis if he’s been transformed into an air-breathing human?
That’s the latest twist in the ongoing saga from Chip Zdarsky, Carlos Magno, and Butch Guice, recounting the original team-up of Marvel’s first Invaders, along with a modern day story where tensions are much, much higher. So high in fact that Captain America and Bucky got a new superpower to allow them to swim underwater, infiltrate Atlantis, and keep Namor from actually using such a water-breathing biological weapon. Needless to say, the mission went awry. Which is exactly where Invaders #11 picks back up in Marvel’s official preview.
When Namor and Cap went after Roxxon, the ensuing fight left them stranded on an island… but not before they were both transformed into humans by the Genus compound. That’s where they were left in the previous issue, so join them in these preview pages for Invaders #11 below:
