Can You Keep Playing Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora After Beating The Game?

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora offers an expansive adventure on an alien moon, but there’s always the question of just what happens after the credits roll. Not only does the game have a story of its own to tell, it also has obligations to a multi-billion-dollar blockbuster film franchise, which could theoretically impose certain limitations on the experience that players are allowed to have within its world. With a surplus of side content, wondering whether it’s possible to return and check everything off might cast a shadow over a playthrough.

Endgame concerns shouldn’t be an immediate threat in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as it’s easy to spend quite some time in-game before reaching the finish line. That being said, it’s definitely possible to rush, as many quests and locations are entirely optional. Exploring a beautiful environment and flying above its open world are arguably the best things that Frontiers of Pandora has to offer, so some might want to rush through the main story and then take in the rest of the game at their leisure.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Can Be Played After The End

There’s ultimately no need to worry, as it’s possible to keep playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora after the story wraps up. The game returns to the main menu after the credits roll, but continuing the save file will drop back in at the cutoff point before the final mission while tossing in an extra bow as a reward. From here, any incomplete side quests can be pursued, and any unexplored locations can be discovered. It’s a familiar method, maintaining the principal status quo and keeping Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora‘s gameplay widely accessible, even if there’s nothing to truly distinguish it as a proper post-game.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Has No New Game Plus

That being said, the only options available are resuming the same Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora save file or starting up a completely new one. There’s no New Game Plus mode included, so no elements of progress can be carried over to a partly fresh start. Ubisoft’s similar game, Far Cry 6 added New Game Plus in a post-launch patch, so there’s always a possibility that one could come later, although it might take a year or more even if it does happen, if Far Cry 6 is anything to go by. For the time being, it’s best to assume that there aren’t any plans to include the feature.

The creative director behind upcoming RPG Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora discusses bringing James Cameron’s world into an open world game.

It’s easy to want to return to Pandora after the credits roll, as story missions are ultimately a minor pleasure compared to the principal joy of wandering around the beautiful wilds. Although it may not be particularly shocking that there’s a basic way to do so, it’s certainly reassuring to know that there aren’t any unpleasant surprises in that regard. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora sticks with a tried and true method of basic post-game availability, eliminating any need for concern about finishing all the side content before letting the curtains fall on the main story.
