Cal’s Lightsaber from Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Coming To Galaxy’s Edge This Fall

Cal Kestis’ lightsaber, from the video game Jedi: Fallen Order, will be coming to Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge this fall. Galaxy’s Edge is a recent expansion in both Disney parks in the United States, opening in both Disneyland and Disney World in late 2019. Galaxy’s Edge serves as an insanely detailed and immersive step into the world of Star Wars, loaded with familiar locations, characters, and objects. It features a plethora of Star Wars-themed restaurants, gift shops, and two rides: Smuggler’s Run and Rise of the Resistance

Cal is the main character from EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The main story follows Cal, who was a young Padawan when Chancellor Palpatine executed Order 66 and caused the Jedi to nearly go extinct. Cal managed to escape, and spent the bulk of his life working menial jobs and hiding his Force-abilities. The only thing that Cal had kept on him from his Jedi days was a damaged lightsaber that belonged to his master, Jaro Tapal, who was killed during Order 66.

As revealed by Star Wars blogger Jenmarie, Cal’s lightsaber will now be featured in Disney World in the Fall. It will be available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, one of the gift shops in Galaxy’s Edge that presents as a collection of rare Jedi and Sith artifacts gathered from around the universe. Reportedly, the blade will be blue, and there will be some sort of adapter so it can become dual-bladed, like how it is in the game after Cal repairs it. Check out what it’ll look like below:

This news serves as a small bright spot after some consistently bad news concerning Disney’s theme parks. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the parks have struggled to draw in crowds throughout nearly all of 2020. Mass layoffs continue affect the park’s employees, with Disney announcing that around 32,000 workers are to be laid off within the first six months of 2021. Disneyland also cancelled its annual pass program to help keep crowd sizes down.

Hopefully, COVID will be more under control by the time Cal’s lightsaber finds it’s way into Dok-Ondar’s. The addition of an object from Fallen Order also serves as another way Disney continues to show appreciation for the ancillary Star Wars stories. The narrative in Fallen Order was widely regarded by fans and critics to be one of the best parts of the game, so it’s nice to see Cal’s lightsaber next to iconic Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in Galaxy’s Edge.
