Call of Duty: Warzone Map Caldera & POIs Revealed

Editor’s Note: A lawsuit has been filed against Activision Blizzard by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which alleges the company has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Activision Blizzard has denied the allegations. The full details of the Activision Blizzard lawsuit (content warning: rape, suicide, abuse, harassment) are being updated as new information becomes available.

Finally, a closer look at Call of Duty: Warzone’s new Pacific-set map named Caldera has surfaced, alongside the locale’s various Points of Interest. The map previously boasted a Thursday, December 2 launch date for its arrival in Warzone and Vanguard; however, developers pushed the content release to Wednesday, December 8. This same day will see Call of Duty: Vanguard receive its Season 1 content rollout.

Vanguard players can expect to access the all-new Caldera map first through an early access preview phase, which kicks off on December 8. Everyone else will have the option to join in on the fun the following day, Activision previously confirmed. Interestingly, one player managed to prematurely access Caldera in Vanguard’s Shipment map by breaking through the world with a spectator cam glitch. This partly rendered look at the upcoming location provided a decent tease for what the Caldera map will have on offer. Fortunately, the wait for an official overview has come to an end.

Today, November 30, the official Call of Duty Twitter account posted an image of the Caldera map. The map overview outlines the locale’s 15 different sections, which include a Resort, Docks, Ruins, Mines, and Airfield. Deep dives on these areas and more via the Call of Duty website feature an even closer look at each space. In addition, dozens upon dozens of tiny orange dots denote various Points of Interest strewn about the Pacific-set location, some spread far apart, others appear close together. Needless to say, players will have plenty of ground to cover once the new content drops next week. Get a closer look at Caldera in the tweet linked below:

It seems users will have a wide variety of ideal places upon which to drop onto the brand-new Warzone map. Most will undoubtedly want to explore the island to its fullest extent before picking favorites, though.

As noted above, Vanguard Season 1 arrives on December 8, as well. A content roadmap shared by Activision last month outlined what the season has in store. Notably, players can look forward to fresh modes, extra gear and weapons, and Zombies-related updates. Specifics remain under lock and key at the time of writing, though a blog post on the franchise’s website notes that more information about Season 1 will go live sometime soon.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available to play across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
