Call Of Duty Warzone Features The Terminator In Midseason Update

A midseason update for Call of Duty: Warzone will add the Terminator franchise’s T-800 and T-1000 cyborg soldiers to the battle royale shooter. The free-to-play entry in the beloved first-person shooter series lets players drop into the overgrown World War II battlefield of Caldera for intense multiplayer combat. Last year rumors suggested that Call of Duty would introduce the Terminator, and now Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 has been officially revealed alongside Robert Patrick’s T-1000.

Since its launch back in 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone has received ongoing support from developers Infinity Ward and Raven Software. The game was originally released as a component of 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with the battle royal’s modern storyline and setting tying into that game. Since then Warzone has changed its map to tie into Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s 1980s setting and the WWII-era of Call of Duty: Vanguard. Since release Warzone has also crossed over with popular action and horror franchises, with Warzone adding Scream and Donnie Darko skins to celebrate Halloween 2021.

Now Call of Duty: Warzone has announced Mercenaries of Fortune, a midseason update that will introduce two Terminator icons alongside new events and items. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800, the sci-fi action franchise’s most prominent character, will be available for purchase in the Terminator T-800 Mastercraft Ultra Operator Bundle. Robert Patrick’s T-1000, an intimidating liquid metal assassin featured in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, will be available in the Terminator T-1000 Ultra Operator Bundle. The midseason update for Call of Duty: Warzone will be available on July 27, and the Terminator bundles will reportedly be available throughout August.

The T-800 is the face of the Terminator franchise, and the cybernetic warrior has therefore appeared in a large number of video games crossovers. Mortal Kombat 11 added the Terminator to its ruthless roster as part of its first Kombat Pack, with Arnold Schwarzenegger performing motion capture to portray the futuristic fighter. The Terminator is also available as a skin in the battle royale shooter Fortnite, alongside the franchise’s reoccurring heroine Sarah Conner, though the T-800 is portrayed in its metallic skeleton form. There have also been a long line of Terminator video games released over the past few decades, demonstrating the series’ lasting appeal.

Call of Duty: Warzone has shifted between various time periods since it first launched, and now The Terminator will time travel back into the battle royale shooter. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 is an extremely recognizable sci-fi icon, while Robert Patrick’s T-1000 is widely considered one of the genre’s greatest antagonists. Both robotic assassins will arrive in Call of Duty: Warzone soon, and Terminator fans are no doubt eager to face them in battle royale.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
