The White Lotus season 3 scripts are shocking, says returning star Natasha Rothwell. Created by Mike White, the Emmy-favorite HBO anthology series follows the guests and employees of the titular resort chain where someone inevitably turns up dead, with the first two seasons set in Maui and Sicily, respectively. The White Lotus season 3 will be set in Thailand and the only confirmed cast member so far is Natasha Rothwell who wil return to reprise her role as Belinda Lindsey, the empathetic and spiritual spa manager from season 1.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Rothwell said The White Lotus season 3 scripts are so shocking that she “gasped out loud a minimum of five times” while reading them. The returning star also warned that “everyone needs to buckle up, because it’s going to get real” before going on to discuss her collaborative relationship with the show’s creator, writer, and director Mike White. I gasped out loud a minimum of five times, and this was just me reading them. The scripts are a testament to Mike’s skill and ability to tell the most smart and entertaining stories. I mean, everything that he does is like a lesson to me as an actor and a performer. And as a writer myself, he takes folks on a journey. Everyone needs to buckle up, because it’s going to get real!
Mike is so collaborative. When we did the first season, we sat down and talked a lot about Belinda and he was so receptive to feedback, and so we plan to approach it the same way. But all credit to him, what I love working with him is that he understands that Belinda’s POV is something that he doesn’t possess—so he’s really interested in my feedback, and really wants to make it authentic. And so I’m just so lucky to work with a director like him who understands the value of having me in the role and what I can bring.
What To Expect From The White Lotus Season 3
After The White Lotus season 2 finale aired in December 2022, Mike White shared his vision for the next season, noting that while the first two seasons focused on money and sex respectively, the third season would provide a satirical take on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality“:

Mike White has revealed that The White Lotus season 3 will be longer; however, an incredibly important figure’s absence might be a problem.
With so little information available about The White Lotus season 3, it’s difficult to speculate about what shocking moments may be in store, as Rothwell teases. However, it’s safe to say the first episode will start with someone turning up dead at the White Lotus resort in Thailand, similar to how the first two seasons started before flashing back one week earlier. Belinda’s story should also be continued. The last time she was seen in season 1 she was left hanging by the wealthy Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) who promised her funding to open her wellness spa before suddenly rescinding.
