Boruto Brings Back THAT Dead Character, Undoing The Story’s Only Real Tragedy

This article contains major spoilers for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #9. Another chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex means yet another shocking development, and this latest one has changed the series forever with a long-awaited revival. With Jura and Hidari managing to uncover Himawari’s true power, this paved the way for the reintroduction of the Nine-Tailed Fox, Kurama, into the series again.

After the previous chapter teased Himawari’s connection with Kurama, Chapter #9 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex ends on a massive cliffhanger, finally showing Himawari’s meeting with the Nine-Tails, and he looks very different from the menacing beast he once was.

This Kyubi is now much smaller than he was, possibly due to the fact that most of his chakra was destroyed. However, it could also be that Himawari eredited a small part of Kurama’s chakra at birth. Still, with the two now meeting for the first time, Himawari might get access to the legendary Nine-Tails chakra.

Against the overwhelming power of Jura, Ino-Shika-Cho fought with all their might to protect Himawari, who was now a target for the confused Jura. Trying to devour her and obtain Kyubi’s chakra, Jura shifted his target from Naruto to Himawari temporarily. The three miraculously escaped due to their excellent teamwork, and Himawari was now safe. However, she became emotionally distressed when she realized her friends were targeted because of her and that is when she met the Nine-Tails in a separate dimension.

From the small interaction the two had, it seems like Kurama has returned with his memories. He was annoyed that the Ten-Tails managed to detect him, almost as if he didn’t want to be found out. This makes sense, given how weak he is and how most of his chakra was destroyed after Naruto used Baryon Mode. Furthermore, the fact that he doesn’t seem to be hostile further proves that Kurama’s personality and memories are back, as he spoke normally to Himawari, whom he could’ve recognized as Naruto’s daughter.

Himawari And Kurama’s New Teamup Will Be Central To The Story

It remains to be seen how Kurama got inside Himawari. Considering that the girl showed prodigious physical abilities since she was a child, part of Kurama’s chakra may have always been inside her, but she could also have inherited it after Naruto’s battle with Isshiki. The next chapter will likely explain this mystery.

The concept of Tailed Beasts and Jinchuriki seem to be as relevant to the series as ever, and it is refreshing to see that despite the Otsutsukis taking over, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex remains grounded in the original franchise. Himawari and the Nine-Tails will continue their discussion in the next chapter, and a path has been laid out for Naruto’s daughter to finally become a co-protagonist of this story.
