BoJack Horseman: 10 Duos Who Should Have Dated (But Didn’t)

BoJack Horseman: 10 Duos Who Should Have Dated (But Didn’t)

When looking back at BoJack Horseman, it certainly is fair to consider it one of the most unique adult cartoons ever produced. It took a very deep look into a plethora of different real-life problems, such as addiction and depression. However, while having its moments of being immensely sad, it also did provide a lot of humor in the process. In terms of relationships in the series, there certainly were some, but it was not necessarily one of the most prominent themes from it.

With that being stated, there were a handful of potential romances that were sadly not explored. Some characters certainly had the potential to mesh well with others, but it simply would not occur at the end of the day. Although the main characters, except for BoJack, would find their happy endings with their partners, it would have been interesting to see other relationships formed beforehand. The show provided a ton of intriguing content, but more storylines could have been created too.

BoJack & Diane

BoJack Horseman: 10 Duos Who Should Have Dated (But Didn’t)

A relationship between BoJack and Diane could have been quite interesting for the series. Although they definitely worked as friends, at least during earlier seasons, it would have been nice to see their attraction to one another explored more.

BoJack, of course, once had deep feelings for her. Diane may have been married, but the series did hint that she may have felt them too. Seeing these two date could have been fantastic, but at the end of the day, it was nice seeing Diane get her happy ending elsewhere.

Todd And Margo Martindale

Todd and Margo Martindale

In terms of possible shenanigans, a relationship between Todd and Margo Martindale would have provided a ton of hilarity. Both of them would find themselves on an array of wacky adventures, so the two of them together would have been even crazier.

This would have made the most sense in the beginning stages of the series though, as Todd progressed into a deeper character later on. However, even with this being so, a temporary connection between these two could have been solid.

Wanda And Pinky Penguin

Wanda and Penguin

With both of their lines of work being similar, it would have been cool to see Wanda and Pinky Penguin engage with one another. Wanda definitely could have been a fantastic partner for him, as she was quite caring and calm.

Pinky seemed to have a lot of negative aspects in his life, so having ended up with a good person like Wanda would have been fantastic. Not many characters in this series would get wins, but Pinky absolutely should have had one.

Princess Carolyn & Mr. Peanut Butter

Mr Peanut Butter and Princess Carolyn

Although these two would be wonderful friends as the show moved on, Princess Carolyn and Mr. Peanut Butter could have been a fun relationship to follow. The cat and dog dynamic alone would have been intriguing.

However, in terms of their actual personalities, these two could have played well off one another romantically. They also both worked hard when it came to their choices of work. Overall, the two of them spent a lot of time together, so it was weird that this avenue was never explored.

Gina & Flip

Gina and Flip

It would have been quite intriguing to have seen Gina be with Flip, instead of BoJack. Obviously, BoJack and Gina’s relationship would turn out horrid, and realistically, Gina deserved so much better.

Flip was a bit of a strange man, but it could have been interesting having the two date while on set. Their personalities also were not that far apart, as they both seemed to lean more towards pessimism. Overall, it could have provided a lot of cool moments had they dated.

Beatrice & Corbin

Beatrice and Corbin

Beatrice and Corbin had been seeing one another as young adults, but it would be short-lived. This was due to the fact that Beatrice found Corbin to be quite boring, which resulted in her choosing Butterscotch instead.

Corbin would have made a marvelous long-term partner, as he was kind and caring. It would have been fantastic to see Corbin come back, as it could have opened the door to a potential relationship between the two in their golden years.

Princess Carolyn & Sebastian

Princess Carolyn and Sebastian

Princess Carolyn could have had a very interesting relationship with Sebastian. Besides the fact that they were both felines, they were also both very passionate about their work. Princess Carolyn also felt her life was boring at times, so dating Sebastian would have provided far more entertainment.

For the record, it was marvelous that she ended up with Juda, but this could have been an intriguing short-term story for the series. Sebastian would have simply been a cool side character to keep around longer with a storyline such as this.

Vanessa Gekko & Ralph

Vanessa and Ralph

Princess Carolyn had a long ongoing feud with Vanessa Gekko, so it would not have been surprising had the latter ended up with Ralph. Princess Carolyn always felt that Vanessa would take away her work, so it would have made sense if she ended up with her ex.

Ralph, however, seemed to be a character who liked genuine people. Therefore, if a relationship had transpired between these two, it likely would have ended rather quickly. However, the conflict that would have come from it would have made it worthwhile.

Todd & Pickles

Pickles and Todd

Pickles was a fun character to follow in the series. Pairing her up with Mr. Peanut Butter, albeit temporarily, did make sense at the time. However, it could have been far more intriguing if they matched her with Todd.

They were closer in age and definitely were similar in terms of personality. It could have been very fun to see these two date instead, but at the end of the day, Todd ending up with Maude was certainly awesome to see.

BoJack & Charlotte

BoJack and Charlotte

BoJack ruined any chance of a relationship with Charlotte when he was caught with Penny in his bedroom. However, these two seemed like they could have been true soulmates, had BoJack expressed his feelings for her way back in the ’90s.

Charlotte was happily married, even if she shared one last kiss with BoJack during it. She could have been the person who helped BoJack stay away from his downward spiral, had he decided to leave Hollywood with her when he had the chance.
