Bob’s Return In That ’90s Show Will Make Red & Kitty’s Role Even Funnier

That ‘90s Show will see the return of another popular character from That ‘70s Show: Bob Pinciotti (Don Stark), and this makes Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty’s (Debra Jo Rupp) roles in the series even funnier. That ‘70s Show continues to be one of the most beloved sitcoms from the late 1990s/early 2000s, and now, over a decade after it came to an end, it’s finally getting a proper spin-off series set in another decade. As such, That ‘90s Show will see the return of some of That ‘70s Show most memorable characters, but its main focus will be on a new generation of teenagers getting involved in all types of problems.

That ‘90s Show will follow the same style as That ‘70s Show, being set in Point Place, Wisconsin, and thus featuring places that the audience knows quite well. However, the series will now follow Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), the teenage daughter of Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon), as she bonds with other teenagers in Point Place while she spends the summer of 1995 with her grandparents, Red and Kitty. That ‘90s Show will have special guest appearances by the beloved cast of the original series, with Eric, Donna, Jackie (Mila Kunis), Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), Fez (Wilmer Valderrama), and Leo (Tommy Chong) showing up at some point, and joining the fun now is Bob Pinciotti, whose presence will make Red and Kitty’s even funnier due to his connection to the Formans.

Bob, Red & Kitty Will Be Hilarious As Grandparents In That ’90s Show

In addition to being Donna’s father, Bob Pinciotti was the Formans’ neighbor, which made way for a strange but funny friendship between Red and Kitty and Bob and his ex-wife, Midge (Tanya Roberts). Although he and Red got along quite well at the beginning of That ‘70s Show, Red eventually realized he didn’t really like him, so their friendship turned into a “frenemies” type of relationship, and they would often compete to show superiority on different things. The friendship between Bob and the Formans was even funnier when Eric and Donna started dating, and now that it’s confirmed that Eric and Donna eventually married and are now parents of a teenager, the friendly rivalry between Bob and Red is about to get even better.

As mentioned above, Bob and Red competed to prove they were better than the other in many things, but being grandparents to the same child will bring that to another level. Kitty will surely go above and beyond, in her very own caring and hilarious ways, to be the best grandmother, but Red and Bob will most likely end up repeating their That ‘70s Show dynamic in order to see who is the best grandparent – and it’s even funnier when taking into account the very different personalities of Red and Bob, with the former being the more serious, discipline-oriented one, and Bob being looser with rules.

Why Bob’s That ’70s Show Fate Makes His Return More Important

Bob and Midge divorced in 1978 and she later moved to California, but Bob stayed in Point Place. In the eighth and final season of That ‘70s Show, Bob decided he wanted to move to Orlando, Florida, to run a bait shop, and offered Red to open the shop together. Red and Kitty considered moving to Florida but ultimately decided not to, but Bob carried on with his plans. Now, Bob’s return in That ‘90s Show is even more hilarious and important because he’s coming back from Florida to Point Place after learning that his granddaughter is spending the summer with Red and Kitty, and he can’t let them win the fight for “best grandparents”. Bob’s appearance in That ‘90s Show is one of the most exciting ones, and if it has already been revealed, it all hints at him possibly having a recurring role rather than a guest appearance.
