In the middle of Times Square in New York City, a naked lady steps out of a duffel bag covered in nothing but tattoos. It does sound interesting and just the promo cuts alone should draw viewers in. NBC went all out with Blindspot as they went full creative mode with this show.

Hot Burning Flames (Season 3, Episode 9) Rating 7.6
Blake Crawford is evil. We all know this by now but still, he wasn’t alone in his madness. He had a mole in the FBI Office in Hirst. Now, the team must decide how to go after Crawford. How can any episode with Roman as a central figure be on IMDb’s worst episode list? Roman is the bad guy here and we never know his endgame but that doesn’t mean he’s not fun to watch.
Roman is searching for a way into Crawford’s camp. Of course, he makes it in, it’s Roman we’re talking about. This is the episode where Kurt tells Jane that he shot and killed her daughter. Kurt tries to explain that it was an accident but Jane, after all her lies and deceit, refuses to give him the benefit of the doubt.
This Profound Legacy (Season 3, Episode 5) Rating 7.6
The truth is confirmed, Jane does have a daughter. As a “Blindspot” fan, this is one of those moments where I cringe watching the show. Ok, it’s been three seasons and Jane still has trouble dealing with the fact that her memory is gone. This whole daughter situation is further proof that another storyline needs to be added.
“This Profound Legacy” does hit a nerve within the Justice System when it comes to rape kits and one of Jane’s tattoos has the team on a wild goose chase. These kits have been in police custody for years and haven’t been touched. Some bad guy wants to destroy evidence. However, Jane and Kurt won’t let that happen.
Any Wounded Thief (Season 1, Episode 16) Rating 7.6
According to IMDb, there was no need for a case in this episode. For the past few, Blindspot has been building characters up to reveal something big. However, “Any Wounded Thief” sort of took a break from that and threw in a rather dull storyline regarding sarin gas.
Jane is trying her best to hide her emotions behind Kurt and Allie. Reade is dealing with his breakup from Sarah and even Paterson is dealing with some personal emotional news. This was the writer’s chance to get deeper into their lives and they dropped the ball with an Army cover-up.
‘Ohana (Season 4, Episode 18) Rating 7.5
The attack of the Killer Bee’s would have been a perfect title. After unlocking a new tattoo, Rich and Patterson discover that a disease is being transferred from bees to its subjects. The information leads them to a facility in Quaker Hill where Patterson’s dad works and he’s placed under arrest.
During the interrogation, it’s revealed that someone under his watch is trying to sell the TTX poison to the highest bidder. On the other side of the story, Jane and Weller are searching for a hooded figure when Kurt realizes that his mother is somehow tied to Sandstrom.
Frequently Recurring Struggle for Existence (Season 4, Episode 15) Rating 7.5
The tension between the team members is visible and Rich decides to break the ice by using his prototype board game with team figures. Nice try but this did not have to be written into the storyline. Maybe mentioned in passing but a real game? Shepard is playing mind games with Jane, yet again with items she hopes will trigger another Remi episode.
While on a mission, one of the bad guys remembers Jane from her Remi days but still not knowing that it was Remi who had him discharged from the Army. Filled with guilt, Jane breaks down after Kurt shoots and kills him. Wait, now she wants to cry over her past?
My Art Project (Season 4, Episode 2) Rating 7.5
How long does this Jane Doe turned back into Remi’s storyline has to go on? We’ve been through this for far too long. She’s living a double life and while Remi is actually fun to watch, the back and forth happy then non-happy acting is a bit too much.
While she’s still smiling and killing people, Tasha is off being Madeline’s errand girl. We had no idea that Tasha is still undercover but why not just bring Madeline in after all these murders she’s committed. Tasha shows mercy to a little girl and all is supposed to be well? Writing is all over the place in this episode.
Persecute Envoys (Season 1, Episode 8) Rating 7.5
Blindspot turns its attention to police corruption in this episode. When two officers are shot dead, one of Jane’s tattoos leads them to the 65th Police District where they later find out that one of the cops had a run-in with an NFL player. The team would later find out that the player was being blackmailed into paying the dirty cop $50K every month due to the nature of the exposed video.
With the police corruption, the writers are also dealing with another storyline that involves Zapata betraying the team. Due to gambling debts, Carter has her feeding him intel, mainly about Jane. They work together and even hang out (once) outside of work and this has Zapata in her emotions regarding what to do next.
The Big Blast From The Past Episode (Season 4, Episode 14) Rating 7.4
Weitz is trash. Or is he? That’s the question fans were wondering as they sat and watched “The Big Blast From The Past”. While the team is searching for a bomber, Weitz is doing his best to stall them off even going as far as to send in a drone strike. It sounds like one of Jane/Remi’s coverup specials.
More corruption in the FBI, well, that’s been the norm since Blindspot aired. I mean, who has not gotten their hands dirty while being in the top chair? Just another day at the office. But wait. Weitz is just a pawn being used by Madeline? Like we didn’t see that one coming a mile away.
Hella Duplicitous (Season 4, Episode 1) Rating 7.4
Jane is dying. Thanks to the ZIP that was injected in her, forcing the memory loss, it hasn’t fully left her system. According to Patterson, in time, the ZIP will force her body to forget who to function properly. This has the team, especially, Kurt in full panic mode trying to find a cure.
But then it all gets weird. Blindspot is not the kind of show where we can look for dead people to make appearances. Although the writers tried to write this off as a hallucination, it just wasn’t working. Jane begins to see Roman and not only that, they were having detailed conversations as if he was real. And oh yeah, Jane is no longer Jane, but Remi now.
Check Your Ed (Season 4, Episode 9) Rating 6.7
Another one of those weird episodes where it feels a bit supernatural when it shouldn’t. With the truth out about Remi being back, Weller convinces Jane to try some sort of shock treatment. What happens next is one of the reasons this episode made IMDb’s list. Now we’re inside of Jane’s head as she and Remi fight.
It’s just a trip down memory lane for Jane as we flashback to her getting out of the duffel bag to the present. Along the way, she gets help from the team, but this is still going on in her head. No wonder this is listed as the worst episode.
