Thousand-Year Blood War Part 1’s overwhelming quality made it well worth a decade of waiting, and it made the anticipation for Part 2 all the higher.

The anticipation for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’s return has been incredibly high, and not only has a new trailer for Part 2 been released, but the anime’s official return date has finally been confirmed. Subtitled “The Separation”, Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 will premiere in the summer 2023 season on July 8, and just like with Part 1, it should be available for streaming on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ in other international territories. How Much Of Bleach’s Manga Will Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 Cover?

With Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 set to premiere in July 2023, that begs the question of how much of the manga it will cover. Thousand-Year Blood War Part 1 went from the beginning of the “Thousand-Year Blood War” arc to Ichigo’s obtaining the true form of Zangetsu, all of which covered about six volumes of manga worth of content, specifically from volume #55 to the first two chapters of volume #61. By that logic, Part 2 should also cover about six volumes of the manga and end somewhere around volume #67.

Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 Returns With Trailer & Release Date

If Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 did go that far, then it would end on a truly dramatic note. Not only would one of the final fights of Part 2 be the fight between Yhwach and Ichibe, two of the most powerful characters in the series, but Yhwach’s actions following the fight create one of the biggest plot twists in the manga that serves to completely change the story. Something like that would be an incredible note to end things on, so it would serve as the perfect stopping point for Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 Will Explore Uryu’s Betrayal

Uryu in the Part 2 trailer

One thing that’s clear about Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 is that it will explore the ramifications of Uryu’s betrayal. Part 1 ended on a major cliffhanger with Uryu joining the Wandenreich, and the trailer adds to that by revealing that Yhwach has appointed Uryu as his successor, something that the other Sternritters appear to take offense to. Add in the focus on Uryu in the most recent promotional image, and it’s clear that the ramifications of Uryu’s betrayal are going to play a major part in “The Separation” and the rest of Thousand-Year Blood War, as a whole.

The trailer also teases that the anime will show some things that the notoriously rushed ending of the manga left out, including Shinji Irako using his Bankai. The return of Bleach has been an incredible success, proving that the franchise is still one of the most popular in the history of manga and anime. With fans still holding their breath for an announcement of the official sequel of Bleach with the Echoing Jaws of Hell arc, season 2 of Thousand-Year Blood War is surely going to be one of the most successful anime of 2023 when it debuts on July 8.
