Black Widow Disney+ Trailer Protects The Movie’s Biggest Spoilers

Marvel Studios debuts a new clip for Black Widow announcing that the film will begin streaming on Disney+ for all users on Wednesday. The first film installment in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe centered on Scarlett Johansson’s titular protagonist following the events of Captain America: Civil War as she goes on the run and must confront the demons of her past. Alongside Johansson, the cast for the film included Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, Olga Kurylenko, William Hurt, Ray Winstone and Rachel Weisz.

Following numerous delays in its release schedule due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Black Widow was released simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with the Premier Access charge. The film scored generally positive reviews, with the action and performances being singled out for praise while the story and villains received more mixed-to-negative reception. The film would break multiple box office performances and gross over $378 million worldwide, becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of the year, though would also become infamous for the recently settled lawsuit Johansson brought against Disney over the film’s release model.

Nearly three months after the film hit theaters and the streaming platform, Marvel Studios has debuted a new clip for Black Widow announcing its return to Disney+ this week. The MCU title will begin streaming for all Disney+ users on Wednesday without the Premier Access surcharge. Check out the new clip below:

The impending arrival of Black Widow on Disney+ lines up with the schedule of simultaneously released films thus far from the House of Mouse, with Mulan, Raya and the Last Dragon and Cruella all getting standard streaming debuts three months after their initial arrivals. It does come at an interesting time for Disney and Johansson, who officially settled the latter’s lawsuit regarding the film’s simultaneous release. Following the settlement, the two have agreed to work together again on a film adaptation of Tower of Terror, though no word has been given for a potential MCU return.

Black Widow‘s arrival on Disney+ also comes at an opportune time for fans of the MCU to catch up on the story ahead of next month’s Eternals and Hawkeye. While the former seems closer tied to the events of Avengers: Endgame, the latter will feature the return of Florence Pugh’s Yelena following the mid-credits scene of her franchise debut establishing a crossing of paths between the titular archer and new heroine. The wait for Black Widow‘s return to Disney+ is nearly over as it begins streaming for all users on Wednesday.
