Spearheaded by the creative team of Tom Taylor, Ivan Reis, and Danny Miki, DC’s highly anticipated event Beast World, is set to take center stage, shaping the publisher’s storytelling landscape for 2024. The crux of this event revolves around the metamorphosis of various heroes and villains, molding them into new, ferocious half-animal forms. In a preview shared by AIPT, fans finally see the momemt Black Adam becomes a lion/human hybrid.
Beast World will see Beast Boy transforming other heroes into new forms after he becomes a ‘Star Conqueror’ – the same alien species as the Justice League’s very first villain, Starro.

Beast World begins with the Necrostar, a godlike being driven by an insatiable thirst for conquest. The narrative will follow the Titans and other DC heroes as they unite to battle this formidable threat. The stakes skyrocket as Beast Boy undertakes a monumental sacrifice, and finds that his human consciousness is lost while in his new, alien form. As a result, his powers will merge with the Necrostar’s spores, transforming every corner of the DC Universe, from Gotham to Kahndaq.
Tie-in miniseries such as Titans: Beast World Tour – Atlantis, Titans: Beast World Tour – Star City and Titans: Beast World Tour – Central City will follow the action, seeing heroes like Harley Quinn, Red Hood, and Power Girl take on shocking new forms. Fans have gotten a glimpse at some, for example Batman’s menacing wolf form. However, Black Adam is the most menacing so far, and seemingly the most powerful. In a separate cover art preview for Titans: Beast World #2, Ivan Reis, Danny Miki, and Brad Anderson show Black Adam in his menacing half-lion form, crushing a skull wearing Nightwing’s mask. Comic covers often go overboard in suggesting the events inside, however this is the Titans’ first ever official comic event, and it would make sense to kill a member of the team to show the stakes of the story. Black Adam is just coming off a period working with DC’s heroes – playing a crucial role in Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths – so it’s high time to see him become a major threat again – even if it’s at the cost of Dick Grayson’s life.
