Bill & Ted: 10 Worst Things The Main Characters Have Done

Bill & Ted: 10 Worst Things The Main Characters Have Done

It’s not exactly easy to find films that are similar to the Bill & Ted series, as its characters are one of a kind. For the most part, the two main titular characters are so boneheaded that even their most malicious acts can be excused since they never mean to be bad or evil.

In some situations, Bill and Ted’s extreme laidback attitude could have led to disaster, making them responsible for what was to follow. And there are other main characters who were well aware of what they were doing and the impact it would have.

Death Changing The Terms, Even After Losing To Bill And Ted

Upon meeting their demise, Bill and Ted came across Death himself, who was in no mood to let the duo go. While this is in line with his whole existence, Death went against his word, despite agreeing on a deal with Bill and Ted.

The agreement was to let them leave if they beat him in their games, but Death continually kept changing the terms. He tried to turn a best-two-out-of-three into a best-three-out-of-five situation, and so on, even though he promised earlier to abide by Bill and Ted’s terms.

Bill And Ted Mugging People In Heaven

Bill, Ted and Death

This scenario brought one of the funniest quotes from the series, as the boys and Death went up to heaven and outright mugged people. The whole point of heaven is to be at peace, but the main characters’ needs were far greater.

Still, this meant that some poor souls were robbed of their place in heaven because the boys randomly stole their clothes in order to sneak in to talk to God. That wasn’t very righteous of the boys, was it?

Bill And Ted Neglecting Their Band

Bill & Ted is one of the funniest stoner movies, as the boys’ overtly chill mentality knew no bounds. In the second movie, they knew they were supposed to dedicate themselves to their band, but kept delaying putting in the work.

This was despite the efforts put in by their girlfriends, who ended up becoming much better than Bill and Ted. Even though the duo was scolded to get their act together, the two still neglected their band and caused problems for everyone that put their faith in them.

Great Leader Attempting To Kill Bill And Ted

The Great Leader was one of the main characters in Face the Music, as she repeatedly kept trying to kill the heroes off. Her reasoning was that the two had to die since they never came up with the music that would bring peace to the universe.

Her ultimate motives might have been good, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that the Great Leader was more than happy to kill off two guys who were clearly no harm to anyone. Considering she did succeed for some time, this bad act of hers was cemented.

Bill, Ted, And Death’s Fallout

Death confronts Bill and Ted in Bill and Ted Face the Music

Of course, it doesn’t make sense how Death could ever be a band member with these two guys, but the ridiculous nature of the series allows this. As it happened, Death formed a trio with Bill and Ted, but became too obsessed with the spotlight and tried to outshine his friends.

To this, Bill and Ted responded with a restraining order and a lawsuit, causing a falling out with Death that lasted for decades. All three were to blame, as Death’s hunger for fame alienated the other two, while they hurt his feelings by taking legal action.

Evil Bill And Ted Killing The Real Ones

The evil versions of Bill and Ted in the second movie were given equal importance due to the big impact they had on the story. While the series generally has a light take on things, the evil counterparts did manage to kill the good guys.

This was obviously played for laughs, but doesn’t hide the fact that the bad versions did commit murder. Looking at things this way, their comedic value should be downplayed since evil Bill and Ted acted upon their nature, rather than adopt the “party on” mentality of their good counterparts.

Ted’s Father Always Belittling Him

It’s hard to believe that anyone out there wouldn’t find Keanu Reeves breathtaking, but Ted’s father certainly didn’t think so. Across all three movies, he was quick to belittle his son for his lazy ways, something that lasted for literal decades, in-universe.

It’s true that Ted was a slacker till the end, but his heart was always in the right place and his father was very mean indeed for constantly making snide remarks. This got to the point where Ted felt he couldn’t relate to anyone, stemming from his father issues.

Bill And Ted’s Future Versions Betraying Them

The many weird futures that Bill and Ted visited in Face the Music are certain to spawn some hilarious memes. These guys all had it in common to betray their past versions, as they preyed on the duo’s naivety and lied to them.

The 2025 versions, in particular, put on a grand lie to make it seem as if they came up with the perfect song, only for it to be revealed that they took a Dave Grohl song to pass off as their own.

Joanna And Elizabeth Leaving Their Husbands

Due to the wonkiness of the way time worked, Bill and Ted’s wives had their own alternate futures. These ladies took things to awful levels, journeying across time in order to make the prime versions leave Bill and Ted for good.

While the duo had been very ignorant of their wives, they had never meant to hurt them willingly. Joanna and Elizabeth’s future versions, on the other hand, had planned all this out, making it a very hurtful thing that they did.

Bill And Ted Not Making The Song To Save The World

Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted 3

It was always the biggest unresolved question from the series as to how Bill and Ted would make the song that would unite the world. It ended up being their daughters who made the song, while they contributed to it, but things got bad beforehand because of the duo.

The two kept delaying and neglecting to get the job done, even though they knew this song was what solidified the future. Had Bill and Ted really been the ones fated to make the song, the world would have been destroyed since the pair didn’t take it seriously, at all.
