Big Brother’s Jackson Michie Calls David Alexander ‘Sketchy,’ Clarifying Past Comments

Jackson Michie, the recent winner of Big Brother, has clarified some of the comments he made about fellow housemate David Alexander during their time in the house, referring to when he said David was “very sketchy.”

After surviving 99 days in the Big Brother house and making it all the way to finale night alongside his in-house girlfriend Holly Allen, Jackson thought his hard work was over, but was seemingly blindsided when host Julie Chen brought up a number of controversial comments Jackson had made during his time in the house. From the beginning of the season, live feed watchers, and even fellow houseguest, accused the 24-year-old Tennessee native of being racist and sexist based on the comments that he and other hated houseguests, such as Jack Matthews, had made about the other contestants. Jackson was still voted as the season winner in a 6-3 vote over second-place winner Holly, but since exiting the house he has given numerous interviews where he has insisted he is not racist or sexist, and most recently he is addressing some of the comments he made about David.

On an episode of former Big Brother houseguest Jessica Graf’s podcast Now What?! with Jessica Graf (via Us Weekly), the waiter addressed one specific comment where he said David had “shifty eyes” and says it’s because “when [David] came in, he was very, like, sketchy.” Jackson further clarified that “he was just analyzing everything everyone said and did. And he just kind of gave off… he looked like he was just coming in to stir sh*t up.” Jackson’s girlfriend, Holly, who was also on the podcast, echoed that David was coming in to the house to “stir the pot and hook with girls.” The contestants enter the house a week before the cameras are turned on in order to get situated, and Jackson says that during those first few days, the 29-year-old photographer “openly admitted to never watching the show, and that he came on [the show] for Instagram followers.” In another clip that viewers found to be questionable, Jackson was heard saying something like David was coming in “to run a train on all these girls” and the Big Brother 21 winner says that was taken out of context as well, because it was addressing something David had said during the first week, and that it had nothing to do with the Atlanta-native being African American. Jackson told Jessica Graf that David is “very good with his words. He’s charming,” and on “multiple occasions” David would ask the houseguests, “So who’s single? Who’s single in the house? Anybody?” – which is why Jackson thought he wasn’t necessarily coming into the house with the right motivations.

Outside of his controversial remarks about contestants’ races in the house, Jackson was also involved in a love triangle with contestant Kathryn Dunn and his now-girlfriend Holly. Jackson began a showmance with Kathryn during the first week in the house, but quickly ended it because he thought that Kathryn was too emotional of a player – which did end up being true and was the downfall of Kat as a contestant. Soon after ending things with Kathryn, Jackson began a showmance with the wine safari guide, a relationship that took the pair all the way to the finale and made them the first showmance to ever sit in the final two seats.

Though Jackson was a widely disliked player for most of the game, there is no denying that he was a skilled player both socially and physically. By the end of the season, he had 11 competition wins under his belt, and despite the negative comments he received from fellow houseguests, they still voted him the winner of this season of Big Brother. Fans initially speculated that this season could’ve ended with a bitter jury and Holly might have one, but it seems that the houseguests acknowledged what a good player Jackson was – even if they didn’t all like him or like what he said about some of them.
