Big Brother: What Happened To Hayden Voss & Nicole Franzel After Season 16 Showmance

When competing on Big Brother, the houseguests’ goal is to be the last one standing and win the grand prize of $500,000. But that doesn’t stop some competitors from entering a relationship in the house, better known as a “showmance.” That was the case for two BB16 houseguests, Nicole Franzel and Hayden Voss. They entered the house and competed against one another for the grand prize, but ended up growing a strong liking for each other that led to a showmance during their time in the house.

Nicole entered the BB16 house as a 21-year-old nursing graduate, while Hayden was a 21-year-old pedicab driver. For many, this showmance was one that no one saw coming, as the two were complete opposites of each other. With Nicole being the sweet and shy girl from Michigan, no one thought that the surfer guy from Long Beach would pique her interest.

During their time in the house, the pair became close, causing the houseguests to view them as a threat and nominate them for elimination whenever they got the chance. The pair was nominated together in week two, separately in week five, and during the second half of the double eviction during week six. Ultimately, Hayden was evicted during the double eviction on day 49, making him the second member of the BB16 jury. Shortly after Hayden’s eviction, Nicole was sent to the jury house on day 56 before returning to the competition on day 63 after winning the jury battle-back competition. Even though Nicole re-entered the house, she did not last long and was once again evicted on day 77. In the end, Hayden and Nicole both became members of the jury and voted for Derrick to become the winner of BB16.

According to Reality TV World, after leaving the house, Nicole and Hayden continued to date and went strong for about two years, actively posting with each other on social media up until their last post together in May 2016. When Nicole returned as a houseguest on BB18, she confirmed she was single. Nicole later went on to win BB18 by a 5-4 jury vote, becoming the first female to beat a male in the final two.

Despite entering the Big Brother house to win money, many do find lasting relationships that have continued once outside of the house. Even though the relationship did not work out for Nicole and Hayden, she did go on to find love and get engaged to her Big Brother 18 housemate, Victor Arroyo. You can currently see Nicole compete on Big Brother for the third time as a houseguest on Big Brother 22: All-Stars.

Big Brother 22: All-Stars airs Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 8 pm ET on CBS.
