Big Brother: Janelle Supports Michael As He Approaches Record (Spoilers)

Spoilers ahead for Head of Household results!

Big Brother 24 houseguest Michael Bruner is close to breaking legend Janelle Pierzina’s single-season win record, and she is excited to see it happen. Janelle has been rooting for Michael since the beginning because they are both from Minnesota, and Michael is a Big Brother superfan. Also, Michael has expressed that Janelle is one of his favorite players. Michael established himself as a dominant player on Big Brother 24, and has worked hard to keep himself and his Final 3 alliance members Taylor Hale and Brittany Hoopes safe throughout the game.

The live feeds have now revealed that Michael is the week 9 Head of Household (HOH). This is Michael’s third Big Brother HOH win. Combined with his five veto wins, Michael now has eight wins this season and is just one win away from tying Janelle Pierzina’s single-season record of nine wins. Janelle has held this record for 16 years. In 2006, during Big Brother 7, the first all-stars season, Janelle won four HOH competitions and five vetoes, and became the “Veto Queen.” Michael has also tied the record set for single season Big Brother veto wins, sharing it with Janelle, Daniele Donato (season 8), Paul Abrahamian (season 19), and Kaycee Clark (season 20). Michael achieved this in less than 60 days inside the Big Brother house, which is the fastest anyone has done this in the show’s history.

In a tweet, Janelle expressed her support for Michael after Twitter user Taran Armstrong tweeted, “Michael won the HOH and is one competition away from tying Janelle’s single season competition record that has been untouched for 16 years. #BB24” Janelle re-tweeted the post and wrote, “It couldn’t happen to a better competitor. I’m rooting for him 100 percent.” Janelle has been a Michael fan since the show began, and her support for him has been unwavering.

Twitter user bridge36 responded to Janelle’s post and wrote, “I know he’s your boy Janelle but I DO have to mention this. BB has been recycling comps for YEARS Which gives fan favs season after season to watch learn how they are played. You went into these comps blind because they were still new. Your record is still far superior.” Janelle responded to this point with “I appreciate that thank you!” Michael has been very excited to participate in some of the classic Big Brother competitions such as OTEV and Slip and Slide, so this might be a fair point. However, he definitely has the skills and strategies in order to win each game.

Big Brother 24 has been very exciting with its shocking blindsides and intriguing twists. However, watching Michael dominate competitions and move toward breaking Janelle’s record has been one of the most thrilling aspects of the season. Michael consistently comes through with a win in order to save himself, and he has proven himself to be a comp beast. Although he now has a major target on his back because of this, his fellow houseguests will have to beat him in order to evict him. No matter what happens, Michael has established himself as a Big Brother legend.

Big Brother airs Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT and Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
