As we get close to finding out who won Big Brother 22: All-Stars, it’s time to look back at the complete list of BB winners from seasons past. There have been 22 standard seasons of Big Brother, which includes the two All-Stars editions of the show. Over the years, the American series has had two main spin-offs. In 2016, Big Brother: Over The Top first went on the air. The premise of this particular spin-off was that it did not have main episodes broadcasting on CBS – the entire show could only be watched through the Big Brother live feeds.
The series’ other main spin-off is Celebrity Big Brother, which has had two seasons between 2018 and 2019. A third season was expected for 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic has likely put a damper on any of those plans for the time being. In any case, between all 22 standard seasons of Big Brother, one season of OTT, and two seasons of CBB, the series will have a total of 25 winners as of this year. That’s a lot of people who have taken home the grand prize at the finale, but it’s also entirely expected given that the series has been on the air for 20 years.
The first season of Big Brother followed the public voting format. In the end, Eddie McGee won the $500,000 grand prize with 59% of the public vote. However, the fans didn’t respond well to the public voting structure, so the show was completely overhauled to what it is today starting on Big Brother 2. That year, Dr. Will Kirby played a very significant role in setting the blueprint for what the show could become. The next winners were Lisa Donahue (BB3), Jun Song (BB4), Drew Daniel (BB5), and Maggie Ausburn (BB6). Then, Mike Boogie Malin won BB7, which was the first-ever All-Stars season of the series. The next winners were Evel Dick Donato (BB8), Adam Jasinski (BB9), Dan Gheesling (BB10), and Jordan Lloyd (BB11). In 2010, the show closed out its first 10 years on the air with BB12 winner Hayden Moss.
The show kicked off its second decade by crowning Rachel Reilly as the winner of Big Brother 13. The winners that followed were Ian Terry (BB14), Andy Herren (BB15), Derrick Levasseur (BB16), and Steve Moses (BB17). In 2016, Nicole Franzel won BB18 and became the first-ever female player to win the show over a male player at the finale. The next winners were Josh Martinez (BB19), Kaycee Clark (BB20), and Jackson Michie (BB21). The winner of the Big Brother: Over The Top spin-off was Morgan Willett. The two stars who have won Celebrity Big Brother were Marissa Jaret Winokur (season 1) and Tamar Braxton (season 2).
The Big Brother 22: All-Stars finale is almost here, which means that the fans are very close to meeting the 25th winner of the show. One thing is for sure: most of the Big Brother winners have very unique personalities who took extremely different paths to win the show. As always, the fans should expect the unexpected.
