Beverly Hills, 90210: Every Major Friendship, Ranked From Worst To Best

In real life, people tend to have many different friendships and they aren’t always part of one main friend group. But on teen dramas like Beverly Hills, 90210, everyone knows everyone and they hang out together constantly, whether at school or the Peach Pit. It always looks really nice and peaceful, although of course, most of the characters have fought with each other or experienced low points in their friendships.

Fans had high expectations for the 2019 BH90210 reboot. The show was canceled after one season, but thankfully, fans have ten seasons of the original show to watch any time that they want, and they can examine the main friendships on the series to see which are the weakest and the strongest.

David And Scott

Beverly Hills, 90210: Every Major Friendship, Ranked From Worst To Best

Scott Scanlon’s death on 90210 is one of the most heartbreaking moments of the series.

At the beginning of the show, Scott and David are two freshmen want to be popular, and their desperation to be considered cool is commonly seen in teen dramas. David feels guilty after Scott passes away, but they didn’t seem to bond or connect very much.

Kelly And Steve

Kelly Taylor can be problematic, but it’s sweet watching her relationship with Steve Sanders evolve as the show goes on.

At first, these two characters are ex-lovers who can’t talk to each other or even be in the same room together without things getting weird. But they eventually learn to be friends and it’s clear that they care about and want the best for each other. They’re not the worst or the best friendship on the show, as they do act pretty immaturely for a while.

David And Kelly

David and Kelly’s relationship is a little uncomfortable for much of 90210. He has a crush on her and then they become stepsiblings, which is one of those things that seems to happen pretty often on teen dramas.

Once they become part of the same friend group, they seem to get along fairly well, although there is always a bit of awkwardness between them, so this friendship is ranked fairly low.

Brenda And Andrea

Brenda Walsh becomes friends with Andrea Zuckerman in an unconventional way: while working for a teen help line.

Characters on teen dramas often bond after finding themselves in the same situation as it’s easy to find common ground when this happens. Brenda and Andrea respect each other as they realize that they’re both outcasts in some way. Brenda finds it hard to shake her new girl status and Andrea lives in another district and has less money than the other characters. There are many strange, outdated things about Andrea, but she’s a good friend to have.

Brandon And Dylan

Brandon Walsh  and Dylan McKay couldn’t be any more different. Brandon is a nice guy who lives to help others, and Dylan has a rebellious streak and can be self-absorbed.

They do connect in the first season, and while Brandon worries about Dylan dating his sister Brenda, he does show a lot of compassion for his friend. The two seem to respect each other.

Kelly And Brandon

Although Kelly and Brandon date for part of Beverly Hills, 90210, their friendship endures break-ups and awkward moments. Kelly tells Brandon that she wants to go out with him at the end of season 1, and though he doesn’t reciprocate her feelings, but they do stay friends. Later, they even survive a broken engagement and remain pals.

These two characters definitely have one of the best friendships on the series as they care deeply about one another. They understand that they aren’t meant to be together but still want the other person to be happy.

Brenda And Kelly

When they’re not fighting over Dylan, Kelly and Brenda are two of the most popular characters on this teen drama, and they have a fascinating friendship.

Sure, it would be better if they had never fought over the same love interest, or if Kelly hadn’t hooked up with Dylan behind Brenda’s back. But they do find a way to move forward and they keep hanging out, which proves that their friendship is meaningful to both of them.

Brenda And Donna

Brenda and Donna Martin also have a great friendship, although it takes them a little while to become close, which is why this friendship isn’t ranked higher.

The characters connect more when they go to Paris, and again when they become involved with an animal rights activist group in season 4. They have some common interests and can really relate to each other.

Kelly And Donna

Donna could have dated many people besides David, but Kelly is always going to be her best friend.

The two remain close throughout so many changes in their lives, which counts for a lot. They become a lot closer in the later seasons, most likely because Brenda moves away, and they even open a clothing store together before the show ends. They are there for each other and it’s moving to watch.

Brandon And Steve

Brandon has his problems like anyone else on the show, but his ability to see the good in everyone is one reason why he’s best friends with Steve.

The two become closer and closer as the seasons progress, and they even run their own newspaper, the Beverly Beat, starting in season 8. Brandon forgives Steve for a lot of his immature and silly actions, and these guys seem to really like hanging out together.
