Best Incandescent Arcana Pokémon TCG Cards Likely To Hit Silver Tempest

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is getting the Silver Tempest expansion this Autumn, and it features many cards from the September Japanese set Incandescent Arcana. Since its worldwide launch in 2020, Nintendo has released ten mainline Pokémon Sword and Shield TCG sets. Following the announcement that Generation 9’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will debut in Fall 2022, The Pokémon Company has revealed that the Galar region era of the TCG is winding down with the Silver Tempest expansion in November.

When the eleventh Sword and Shield expansion Lost Origin was first revealed for September, many fans speculated that it could be the final Galar region set due to it releasing so close to the launch of Gen 9. Many players were surprised then when it was revealed that the Gen 8 TCG era would be getting one last set in Autumn called Silver Tempest. With Japan also getting two sets before November called Incandescent Arcana and Paradigm Trigger, it was then confirmed that the final Sword and Shield expansion would feature cards from both releases.

As a result, the first Gen 9 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet TCG cards will likely release internationally in February 2023. To close out the final leg of the Sword and Shield series in 2022, the Silver Tempest expansion will arrive in stores on November 11th, 2022. The winter-themed set will feature cards such as Alolan Vulpix VSTAR, and Radiant Jirachi. Below is a list of cards from Incandescent Arcana that players can expect to pull when Silver Tempest releases this Fall.

Pokémon Incandescent Arcana Gardevoir Trainer Gallery Card

After making its debut in 2017’s Pokémon Sun and Moon TCG series, Trainer Gallery Cards have since become one of the most popular Pokémon card variants in the franchise’s 26-year history. The full-art collectibles feature detailed artwork depicting a Pokémon next to its Trainer. The beloved subset made its return in Brilliant Stars, and most recently in the Pokémon Astral Radiance TCG expansion which launched in April. The card variant is being brought back once again for Silver Tempest, and Incandescent Arcana has given fans their first look at the subset with the Gardevoir Trainer Gallery card. The gorgeous TCG collectible features Kalos Champion Diantha sitting next to the Gen 3 Psychic Fairy-type in a beam of golden light.

Mawile VSTAR Incandescent Arcana TCG Card

Pokemon TCG Incandescent Arcana Mawile VSTAR Card

When Mawile made its debut in 2003, it was exclusive to the Pokémon Ruby version of the Gen 3 RPGs. The dual Steel/Fairy-type will make its debut as a VSTAR card in Incandescent Arcana and will be available in the Silver Tempest expansion. The vibrant card depicts Mawile readying for battle, as a flurry of energy swirls around it. While this isn’t the Gen 3 Pokémon’s popular Mega Evolution form introduced in Pokémon X and Y, it’s one of Mawile’s most epic-looking cards in years.

Pokémon Sun and Moon’s Alolan Vulpix VSTAR

Pokemon TCG Incandescent Arcana Alolan Vulpix

In Gen 7, Game Freak introduced the wildly popular regional form mechanic for the very first time. Pokémon Sun and Moon‘s Alolan Forms saw classic Pokémon such as Sandshrew, Dugtrio, and Raichu becoming transformed into new character designs. Regional Pokémon also have their battle-typing changed.

Pokémon Sun and Moon‘s most popular redesign though was Alolan Vulpix. The ice-type Kanto fox is also set to make an appearance in Incandescent Arcana and is fittingly one of the winter-themed set’s mascots. Players will be able to pull the adorable regional Vulpix as a VSTAR card in the Silver Tempest expansion.

Pokémon Incandescent Arcana Radiant Jirachi Card

Pokemon TCG Incandescent Arcana Radiant Jirachi Card

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire players were originally able to obtain Mythical Steel-type Jirachi by downloading the Pokémon from a pre-order bonus disc packaged in with 2004’s Pokémon Colleseum. The bite-sized Pokémon has since become one of the most beloved Mythical’s next to Johto’s Celebi. In Silver Tempest, the Incandescent Arcana card will make its debut as a Radiant variant which was first introduced in Astral Radiance. Radiant Jirachi will likely be one of the most sought-after cards to hit the final Sword and Shield expansion.

Milotic Trainer Gallery Card Incandescent Arcana

Pokemon TCG Incandescent Arcana Milotic Trainer Gallery Card

Ever since its introduction in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire‘s Hoenn Region, Milotic has become one of the most difficult Pokémon to catch each generation. The gorgeous Water-type can only be evolved from a Feebas, which has an extremely low catch rate while fishing. So it’s fitting that Milotic is also one of Incandescent Arcana‘s rarest cards, as it makes an appearance in the sets Trainer Gallery subset. The Silver Tempest collectible will feature the stunning artwork of Milotic rising out of the ocean next to Gen 3 Sootopolis City Gym Leader Wallace.

Pokémon TCG Incandescent Arcana Serperior V Alternate Art Card

While the TCG has introduced many new rare card variants such as Gigantamax, VSTAR, and Radiant, some of the most valuable Pokémon cards in 2022 have been Alternate-Art V cards. The holographic collectibles not only have full artwork, but they feature intricate designs of Pokémon and Trainers in unique situations such as battles.

One of the most detailed cards in Incandescent Arcana is the Serperior V card, which features the Unova Grass-Starter next to Rosa from Pokémon Black and White 2. The Alternate-Art V card will make an appearance in Silver Tempest and has a high chance of being one of the November sets most expensive cards.

Pokémon Black and White Serperior VSTAR Card

Pokemon TCG Incandescent Arcana Serperior VSTAR Card

In 2010’s Pokémon Black and White, players were first introduced to Serperior after being given its pre-evolution Snivy as one of the game’s three Starter Pokémon. The Grass-type will make its debut as a VSTAR card in the Silver Tempest expansion. Fans of the Gen 5 Starter won’t want to miss out on this collectible, as it features a beautiful rainbow-colored backdrop. The Black and White Unova Pokémon will come equipped with a powerful attack worth 190 points, as well as a massive HP of 270.

Ever since the TCG launched in 1996, the rest of the world had to wait three years until the Pokémon card game made its debut internationally. Because of this, Japan has always gotten new sets first. So while Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to release in November, players will have to wait until February of 2023 before the first Gen 9 TCG cards hit stores. Silver Tempest will feature over 190 cards, including many collectibles from both Japanese sets Incandescent Arcana and Paradigm Trigger. The final Sword and Shield Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion is shaping up to be one of the Galar series’ biggest ever.
