Samsung’s Galaxy S21 FE is an okay value at its $699 retail price, but thanks to the numerous deals/promotions available for the phone, it quickly becomes a much better value. Looking back at 2020, it’s no secret that the Galaxy S20 FE was one of the best smartphones of the entire year. It was released a few months after the regular Galaxy S20, kept almost all of its same features/specs, and shaved $200 off its asking price. Unsurprisingly, it was a combination that got a lot of people excited.
The Galaxy S21 FE launched in January 2022 to continue the S20 FE’s legacy. Unfortunately, it’s not the same killer deal that its predecessor was. Where the S20 FE debuted just months after the S20, the S21 FE didn’t release until almost a year after the rest of the S21 lineup. Furthermore, the difference in price is more minimal than ever. The $699 S20 FE was a compelling buy over the S20’s $899 MSRP. When the S21 already has a lower retail price of $799 — and is often discounted to even less — the $699 price of the S21 FE becomes a lot less appealing.
Thankfully, it’s not all bad news. While the Galaxy S21 FE is a tough sell when paying the full retail price, ample deals mean you shouldn’t have to ever do that. In typical Samsung fashion, one of the best S21 FE deals comes from the company itself. Buying the S21 FE direct from Samsung’s website, shoppers can choose one of the following offers: A $100 instant credit for Samsung.com, a free pair of Galaxy Buds Live, or a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro for just $29. You can also get an additional instant credit of up to $560 when trading in an eligible smartphone.
Other Galaxy S21 FE Deals To Keep An Eye On
But Samsung isn’t the only place with S21 FE deals. Best Buy offers up to a $200 Best Buy gift card when buying and activating the phone. If someone gets the S21 FE at Best Buy and activates it through Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, they get the full $200 amount. Alternatively, you can buy the unlocked S21 FE from Best Buy without a required activation and still get a $100 gift card. Amazon has a very similar deal, too. Simply head to Amazon, find the Galaxy S21 FE, choose the ‘S21 FE + Amazon Gift Card’ option on the product page, and you’ll pay $699 for both the phone and a $100 Amazon gift card.
And, of course, there are carrier deals. Starting with AT&T, anyone can get the Galaxy S21 FE for $15/month with no trade-in required. Folks need to agree to a 36-month installment program and have an unlimited wireless plan to be eligible. Still, it comes out to just $540 total instead of the usual $699. Have T-Mobile? The magenta-clad carrier allows you to get the S21 FE for free with an eligible trade-in — and if you’re subscribed to its Magenta MAX plan. If you have any other T-Mobile plan, you can still trade in an eligible phone and get up to a $400 discount. If neither of those options sounds good, T-Mobile’s also allowing shoppers to buy one S21 FE and get another for free. Simply buy both phones, active two voice lines (or add one to an existing plan), and you get one of the phones for free.
Last but not least, there’s Verizon. Verizon customers can trade in an old or damaged smartphone and get up to $700 in credits (with a new line of service). Furthermore, if someone buys the S21 FE with an unlimited plan, they can also buy a tablet or laptop with a $370 discount.
