BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710Q Review: A Quality Monitor For Creative Professionals

BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710Q Review: A Quality Monitor For Creative Professionals

The BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710Q monitor has many features that are better suited for creative professionals or those heavily focused on gaming or creative activities. This monitor supports a 2K gaming experience for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 owners alike, and it doubles as a quality monitor for long hours of photo and video editing. Although there are 4K options priced less than the $550 USD for the EX2710Q, this monitor, in essence, spoon-feeds its users preset display options for better eye-care. The EX2710Q comes with two HDMI ports, a single Display port, audio port, and two USB ports.

The EX2710Q is a high-end gaming monitor that supports a 165Hz refresh rate, 27-inch display screen, and a resolution display of 1440p. Additionally, the color gamut featured in the EX2710Q is 95% P3, allowing creative photo and video editing minds to have a crisp perception of their projects’ appearance. For those who stream video games frequently on Twitch or YouTube, this monitor is a great option for playing games, editing thumbnails, and creating highlight videos of gameplay. Preset display options support optimal color configuration for FPS, racing, and RPGs, and can be customized to highlight darker areas specifically without overexposing brighter colors. This makes working or gaming at the monitor for an extended amount of time much easier on one’s eyes, as the color availability is inclined to reduce as much blue light exposure as possible.

Physically assembling the EX2710Q requires, approximately, less than ten minutes, including cable management. Assembly requires no tools, just the use of a hand screw to attach the base of the stand to the neck. The monitor stand is definitely an improvement from the obtrusive design of the BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710 gaming monitor, removing the odd center bar across the stand that had little benefit to any additional stability. The EX2710Q features two legs that come less than two inches in front of the monitor and spread roughly 16 inches apart, making it the perfect place to store small items like a notebook, phone, or controller. The monitor stand also has an adjustable height, and swivels to a degree that compliments L-shaped desks.

The actual frame of the EX2710Q monitor looks like it is made of quality material, but the plastic feels rather fragile. As a high-end gaming monitor, it’s important for the EX2710Q to made out of a lighter material to prevent overheating, but the frame can be scuffed by a small 4K webcam even when there is padding separating the two objects. Nonetheless, this can easily be avoided by fully removing a webcam from the frame to readjust it, rather than loosely sliding the webcam down the frame, and does not take away from the quality of the display itself. Additionally, while the cable management panel provides a cleaner look, it’s rather inconvenient when it comes to quickly accessing the HDMI, Display, and USB ports.

The EX2710Q has surprisingly higher quality speakers, featuring two treVolo speakers and a subwoofer in the back of the monitor. Although FPS heavy gamers will undoubtedly want to use headphones, the FPS audio setting of the EX2710Q reduces bass sound and highlights distinctive left and rights audio queues that typically come from using quality headphones. However, this comes at the cost of full immersion, but only for FPS games. Other audio modes like RCG or cinema provide high-end sound quality for games that don’t typically need left-right distinction, and are more cinematic in nature, such as Marvel’s Guardians of the GalaxyStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Forza Horizon 5.

For creative and gaming heavy minds that are looking to upgrade their equipment in a professional setting, the BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710Q is an excellent choice for the long hours spent at a desk. Additionally, people who are concerned for their eyes will find this monitor very easy to adjust to their own settings. This monitor is more about quality display than it is about budget friendliness, but even so, professional content creators will be able to get their money’s worth out of the EX2710Q.

The BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710Q is available now at the official online BenQ storefront. Screen Rant was provided with a sample monitor for the purpose of this review.
