Below Deck: Sydney & Gary’s Relationship Heats Up on Sailing Yacht

The first crew hook-up is upon us as the second season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht makes its triumphant return to Bravo. Gary King seems to be the hunk of the boat and has lured in his fellow deckhand, Sydney Zaruba, in for a cheeky kiss. The two were bound to feel uncomfortable in the morning since they work in the same department.

What girl doesn’t want to be told she is a good deckhand? On Monday’s all-new episode, the Floridian and one too many drinks with the rest of her crew and admitted that “drunk Sydney” likes to have a body next to her. She set her eyes on the yacht flirt and tried to have a heart to heart about her ability to run the boat and keep it in tip-top shape.

While their conversation was far from an average performance review, Gary used his charm to reel his catch of the day in. Fans had the privilege of watching all of the women flirt with the first mate. Like so many men before him, Gary turned on his sarcastic charm to tell Sydney she was the worst, then grabbed her for a big bear hug. It was obvious to fans that the other girls, especially Alli Dore, were becoming upset that Sydney got to him first since they all had their skimpy bathing suits on.

Even though they were all intoxicated, the chief engineer, Colin Macrae, spoke words of wisdom when he told cameras, “I think it’s the worst idea possible for him to hook up with Sydney,” since they have to work together on deck. Fans know exactly what to expect from Gary since he will try to get with other crew members, and the drama will ensue. It didn’t help that the two love birds tried hiding their escapades under a small towel.

Even though the cast was restricted to their ship for the entire season, fans have noted that they all are wildly riled up. If their first night of partying is any indication for the rest of the season, then it will be a jam-packed one. The cast and crew of Below Deck were able to film as if there were no pandemic thanks to forming a bubble and constant testing. This technique allowed fans to enjoy their favorite nautical show with many thinking we will see a lot more hooks up since they are trapped on the boat.
