Below Deck Season 7 Trailer Teases Endless Hookup Drama

Below Deck Season 7 sets sail with a new trailer that teases some of the drama as well as a “shocking departure” as they set off to Thailand. The yacht crew has some issues and someone is seen walking away from the boat. The crew’s motto is to work hard and play harder, and sometimes the two get mixed up.

This reality series that has been running since 2013 showcases a group of young people as they work on privately owned, luxurious yachts. The “yachties,” or the crew of the vessel, work hard to make sure the demanding clients’ needs are met. The “yachties” travel around the world to some of the most exotic places on the globe on their marine adventure. Captain Lee Rosbach, chief stewardess Kate Chastain, and Ashton Piennar, now Bosun, are all back for a new season. There are also plenty of fresh new faces joining the crew this time around, including Kevin Dobson as chef, Simone Mashile and Courtney Skippon as Kate’s stews, and Brian de Saint Pern, Tanner Sterback, and Abbi Murphy as the deck crew.

According to the new trailer from Bravo, season 7 looks very explosive with a healthy dose of drama with hookups and confrontation. The trailer teased plenty of crew members getting hired, as well as being fired. The trailer begins with returning Chief Stew Kate talking about how this season has “the most attractive deck crew” so far and the new deck crew – which includes lead deckhand Brian de Saint Pern and Tanner Sterback – adding that she’d “bang” them if it wasn’t unprofessional. It seemed like the hookups are the driving force behind the drama in season 7, as Kate said, “When you hook up with somebody on a yacht, you’ve got to choose wisely,” and that “Boat-mances don’t end, you have to ship out.”

The trailer then shows a love triangle beginning between Kate’s second stew Mashile and third stew Skippon as they end up hooking up with both of the new deck crew, Brian and Tanner. Murphy is then seen leaving a bed, with the voice-over saying, “Waking up next to your boss is the most awkward thing.” Murphy continues that because of her actions, “It’s just going to be a weird day.” Of course, there are bound to be some awkward moments and heartbreaks while on a yacht where everyone seems to be hooking up with everyone, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any stress from the job. The tensions arise between Kate and chef Kevin Dobson, with Kate exclaiming, “Go find another Chief Stew,” and says, “I quit.” She is then seen walking off the boat, alone, while asking cameras to not film her.

It seems like all of the stress of hookups and drama was too much for Chastain. That said, trailers are known to amp up the drama, so, given how long Chastain has been chief stewardess, it’s unlikely she’ll just up and leave this far along in the show’s 7-season run. Time will tell to see how things ultimately play out.

Below Deck premieres Monday, October 7 at 9pm EST on Bravo.
