Below Deck Mediterranean alum Malia White lost one of her older brothers. Malia made her reality TV debut on Below Deck Mediterranean season 2 as a deckhand but was promoted to lead deckhand before the season ended. It took until Below Deck Med season 5 before Malia appeared on the show again, this time as a bosun. However, Malia ended Below Deck Med season 5 as a villain after reporting Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier for having unregistered Valium and a vape pen on board. Despite her villainous stint on season 5, Malia reprised her role in season 6.
After two seasons, Malia finally had her best showing on Below Deck Mediterranean season 6, where she was able to redeem her tainted image with the fanbase. Nonetheless, since the Below Deck Med season 6 finale, Malia has not indicated returning to the show. Instead, she was named as one of the new casts on Bravo’s Winter House season 3. Sadly, after being out of the news for months, Malia has found herself at the center of heartbreaking news.
Malia’s Brother Passed Away
Malia shocked Below Deck Mediterranean fans when she announced the death of one of her five older brothers, Jayseph White, on Monday, October 9, 2023. Malia announced the news via her Instagram stories, where she posted a baby picture of Jayseph alongside another image where they both appeared and captioned it, “Remembering my brother for his goofiness and the light & joy he brought to our family.” Unlike Malia’s other brothers, who appeared on her Instagram occasionally, Jayseph looks to have lived a more low-key life. Nonetheless, Jayseph had his own Instagram page, posting mainly about his bodybuilding and other life activities.
Before his death, Jayseph was a member of the Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services, according to Oxgaps. Also, images on Jayseph’s Instagram page indicate he loved fitness and was a successful bodybuilder. In one of his Instagram posts, dated September 6, 2018, he celebrated his achievement in 2017 when he placed first in the bodybuilding competition “Battle For The Eagle” under the true novice category. Sadly, Jayseph’s last Instagram post was on September 8, 2023. Malia’s late brother posted a picture of himself and his dog Aspen, who he claimed was his best friend for the past nine years
How Malia Has Honored Her Brother?
While the nature of Jayseph’s death has not been revealed, Malia wasted no time honoring her late brother. On her Instagram Story, Malia announced that a memorial would be held for Jayseph at a later date when their whole family would be able to fly into Eugene, Oregon. Despite some of her controversial showings on Below Deck Med, Malia has always been family-oriented, and the loss of her brother Jayseph would have been undoubtedly hard for her to take. Hopefully, Below Deck Mediterranean fans can give Malia all the love and support she needs during this difficult time.
