Below Deck Med: Fans Furious At Sandy & Malia For Hannah Firing, Threaten Boycott

Some fans are furious with Captain Sandy and Malia White for Hannah Ferrier’s firing on Below Deck Mediterranean. To express their frustrations, fans even threatened to boycott the show.

Evidently, fans are livid that Hannah was let go from her chief stew position. They’re so upset, in fact, that many Bravo viewers are threatening to boycott the rest of the season. Frankly, Hannah couldn’t have cared less that she was fired. While her spoiled attitude did not sit well with others, a small number of fans felt Captain Sandy and Malia were to blame. Unfortuantely, these fans forget that the charter world has strict rules of its own, even if you are on a reality TV show.

The cast and crew of Below Deck Mediterranean are dropping like flies, thanks to a second stew not taking direction well, an overly horny deckhand, a belittling chef, and now a drug-hoarding chief stew. However, fans are turning on Malia and feel she set Hannah up. Viewers were not thrilled with how entitled Malia felt once her boyfriend Tom agreed to come aboard as the chef. Rather than a pleasant introduction, Malia made things awkward by demanding she and Tom sleep in the same bunk. The bosun made every single crew member uproot their rooms and switch. To many, the situation was ridiculous. Some fans were so upset they started a petition at Change.org that called for Malia’s removal. Even poor Bugsy Drake has been criticized for posting that she felt anxious about the situation and was forced to delete her social media posts.

Even though Captain Sandy tried her best to commiserate with Hannah, she was left with no choice but to follow the rules.  The maritime laws are crystal clear, and Hannah Ferrier was wrong. If the captain had ignored the evidence, she could have had the yacht impounded and lost her license while also being charged with negligence. What Hannah did was illegal, and it was not fair to assume that the rest of the crew would risk their qualifications for the sake of one extremely spoiled Australian.

Below Deck Med airs Monday at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
