Below Deck: Eddie Lucas’ Age & Height—Is He The Oldest Crew Member?

Eddie Lucas from Below Deck joined the cast once again after not appearing on the show since season three. But after his long absence, fans are wondering just how old this OG bosun is now.

Eddie returned to the Bravo series after taking five years off from the world of reality television. Eddie originally joined the cast for Below Deck’s very first season and was a series regular up until season three. After that he left the show, Eddie went on to achieve his 1600-ton license and worked as First Mate on a four-man tugboat crew. Now, Eddie is back with the Below Deck crew ready to take on the Caribbean seas.

So how old is Eddie and is he the oldest current cast member? According to Heavy, the bosun is 35 years old as of today. While many fans may think he is the oldest crew member (besides Captain Lee), chef Rachel Hargrove is in fact the oldest at 38. Everyone else on deck is between the ages of 25 and 30 years old, as Eddie once said in the show his whole deck crew was “born in the 90’s.” As for his height, Eddie is approximately 5′ 8″ tall.

Before returning to Below Deck, Eddie kept himself busy. He worked in Maryland at the Moran Towing Corporation, a Baltimore-based company specializing in marine transportation and towing. His job was to dock all the ships that come into the port. Eddie decided to join the show again for the winter season as a way to make a little more money and enjoy the warmer weather. Captain Lee was happy to see a familiar face after his chief stewardess for the past seven seasons, Kate Chastain, decided to leave yachting and the show. After appearing on Watch What Happens Live in October, Captain Lee said working with Eddie was “like déjà vu all over again.” He added, “It worked, I think, because Eddie knew what he was getting in me. He didn’t have to go through trials and tribulations in getting accustomed to a new captain, and I didn’t have to go through…getting accustomed to a new bosun.”  It seems Eddie fit right in even though he had been absent from Below Deck for so many years.

Since Eddie is one of the oldest crew members on board, will this be his last season on the boat? The bosun already bid adieu to reality TV once before, so only time will tell if he’s ready to say goodbye again, this time for good.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
