Beavis & Butt-Head Remastered Episodes Include All Music Videos

Over 200 remastered episodes of Beavis & Butt-Head are set to hit Paramount+ with all the original music videos restored. Beavis & Butt-Head, an early project created by Office Space director Mike Judge, follows the exploits of two immature, heavy-metal-loving teens, who continually get into trouble in between their overabundance of time spent commenting on and watching music videos while firmly planted on their couch. Judge voiced the titular duo alongside Dale Revo, Kristofor Brown, and Tracy Grandstaff, who voiced Daria Morgendorffer, a character that received her own spinoff series.

Beavis & Butt-Head ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 1997, with an eighth season hitting in 2011 as a short-lived revival. The duo also starred in their first feature film, 1996’s Beavis & Butt-Head Do America, during the show’s original run. Now, the Beavis and Butt-Head series is being remastered for Paramount+, going above and beyond to bring audiences the episodes as they were initially intended to be seen.

As reported by Consequence, over 200 episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head are set to hit Paramount+ with all the music videos used during their original airings restored. Previously, reruns of the series have notoriously cut the music video segments, which saw Beavis and Butt-Head making fun of the artists or loving the intense videos. Audiences have noted these edits, which hinder the experience of the show. However, Paramount looks to have responded to fan outcry, promising to deliver the episodes with the music restored.

Licensing issues have plagued certain forms of entertainment for years, seeing shows or even video games lose the rights to use the music they originally released with years prior. While Beavis and Butt-Head reruns have been hit particularly hard, as so many of the episodes revolve around the music, even shows like Supernatural have had similar problems, with Netflix airing episodes with the originally used songs being replaced. However, with Paramount+ promising the return of Beavis and Butt-Head‘s music videos, it looks like the company shelled out the money to reacquire the rights for the songs where necessary.

Beavis and Butt-Head is amping up for a revival, with the remastered series being only part of the plan. Coinciding with the release of the remastered episodes on the streaming service, Paramount+ will debut a new movie, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, that sees the duo sent to space camp, where a black hole sends them 24 years into the future. In addition, a new Beavis and Butt-Head revival series is also due to hit Paramount+, which has already been greenlit for two seasons. With Beavis and Butt-Head returning when nostalgia has become quite profitable, audiences will have no shortage of new content from the daft duo. The remastered episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head and Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe are slated to hit Paramount+ on June 23.
