Beastars’ Season 3 Will Confirm the Real Reason Legoshi Loves Haru

Beastars’ Season 3 Will Confirm the Real Reason Legoshi Loves Haru

Warning: SPOILERS for Beastars season 3Viewers who are unhappy about having to wait until 2024 to see the third and final season of Netflix’s Beastars can hopefully find comfort in the fact that the Netflix Original Series will likely confirm why Legoshi truly loves Haru.

The second season was especially difficult for those who began watching the series’ in the first place because of the odd, twisted romance between Beastars’ wolf Legoshi and dwarf rabbit Haru. The majority of these 12 episodes cover Legoshi’s obsession with finding and defeating the carnivore who murdered Tem the alpaca at the beginning of season one. In truth, Legoshi intended to help his relationship with Haru by separating himself from her. By training to defeat a carnivore without eating meat, he was simultaneously training to keep his killer instincts at bay whenever he would choose to be around her later on. But, like season two itself, Legoshi ended up losing sight of what was important for him and Haru by endeavoring to become a better beast for all society and only overcoming his difficult training because of his love for herbivores, not just Haru. Viewers, therefore, felt more like Haru in that she just wanted to be happy with Legoshi, not being forced to find happiness in his absence.

Unfortunately, viewers shouldn’t get their hopes up about seeing more of Legoshi and Haru in future episodes. But season three will thankfully delve deeper into why Legoshi is so obsessed with not only Haru but herbivores in general and why he has such a strong sense of justice. As an adaptation of Sanda mangaka Paru Itagaki’s original manga, Beastars season three will likely stay true to Itagaki’s work, especially since the first two seasons are quite similar to the manga. So both readers and viewers can expect a faithful retelling of the next part in Itagaki’s original story, which is confirmed to cover chapters 100 through 123. So while extraneous circumstances will complicate Legoshi and Haru’s ability to be with each other in these episodes, the anime will likely fill this time by delving into Legoshi’s past, revealing that he essentially “inherited” the will of another character.

Beastars Season 3 Will Reveal Legoshi Actually Inherited His Love of Herbivores

This new focus will in turn explore more facets of Beastars‘ nuanced world of racism, bigotry, and discrimination, which will help viewers understand that Legoshi isn’t as special as many viewers think he is. The animal kingdom is, in fact, much more complex than just herbivores and carnivores. And when these additional Beastars characters from different groups or species are added into this already highly diverse melting pot, viewers can expect even more troubles than just carnivores worrying about herbivores judging them as killing machines and battling their desire for meat, and more than just herbivores fearing for their lives and not wanting to be viewed as weak.

Although Legoshi is his own wolf, the similarities between his relationship with Haru and whoever this other character will be in season three of Beastars can’t be ignored as a coincidence. As for Legoshi and Haru themselves, expect some dynamics in their relationship not seen before (think jealousy) and probably the most heart-warming moment between the love “birds,” more so than anything from seasons one and two combined. On a whole, fans can take heart that season three of Beastars will be much better than season two.
