“Be Prepared”: First Reactions To The Exorcist: Believer Revealed By Blumhouse Founder

The Exorcist: Believer producer Jason Blum has shared some insight into the reactions that have come out of early behind-the-scenes screenings of the movie. The upcoming movie, which was directed and co-written by David Gordon Green, is a sequel to the iconic 1973 horror classic The Exorcist, which is based on the novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty. The movie follows a young father (Leslie Odom Jr.) who seeks the advice of original character Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn) when his daughter (Lidya Jewett) and her friend (Olivia Marcum) begin to exhibit signs of demonic possession.

Entertainment Weekly recently sat down for an interview with Blumhouse co-founder Jason Blum ahead of the official The Exorcist: Believer release date on October 6. When teasing the new movie, he revealed that “the people who have seen it have said it checks all the boxes of the original.” He warned that they also report that “you come out kind of shaken, so be prepared.”
