Syfy will be hosting individual marathons for both Xena: Warrior Princess and Battlestar Galactica later in April. Created by Robert Tapert and developed alongside R.J. Stewart and Sam Raimi, Xena: Warrior Princess was a direct spin-off of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Starring Lucy Lawless as the titular heroine, the fantasy series ultimately surpassed its predecessor in both ratings and overall popularity. Premiering in 1995, the show ran for six seasons and concluded in 2001. Battlestar Galactica, meanwhile, was developed by Ronald D. Moore and based on the 1978 series of the same name. Boasting an impressive ensemble including Edward James Olmos, Katee Sackhoff, and James Callis, the series was critically acclaimed and aired between 2003 and 2009. Battlestar Galactica has since spawned a number of prequels and spin-offs.

In a press release from Syfy, the Xena: Warrior Princess marathon will air in blocks every Thursday morning and afternoon starting April 16. Lawless herself will be on hand to host the wrap for each marathon block alongside SYFY Fangrrls. There will also be several special guest appearances. Conversely, Battlestar Galactica will air in its entirety across a non-stop three-day event. The marathon will include the two-part miniseries, all four seasons, and the movies “Razor” and “The Plan“. Tricia Helfer, who starred as Number Six on the series, will serve as host for the entire event. The Battlestar Galactica marathon is scheduled to take place from Monday, April 20 at 12 AM ET until Thursday, April 23 at 9 AM ET.
