Batman vs Jason Is the Dark Knight’s Ultimate Test in Crossover Cosplay

Batman vs Jason Is the Dark Knight’s Ultimate Test in Crossover Cosplay

DC Comics’ resident brooding hero, Batman, and Friday the 13th’s iconic boogeyman, Jason Voorhees, are two terrifying characters who use their fear tactics in distinctly different ways. One defined by a “no kill” rule that influences his nightly vigilantism and the other bound by a mindset that sees murdering and maiming as good things, Batman and Jason, respectively, have never met in an official capacity, with a new cosplay image pitting the pair against one another in brutal fashion!

A crossover image shared on Instagram by the Batman and Jason cosplayers in the photo, All-Star Cosplay (@all_starcosplay) and Brian Lee Smith (@bleedingbrian) are two creative talents that have found the perfect way to bring DC and Friday the 13th together, something that’s far easier said than done.

Creating all kinds of Batman designs, All-Star Cosplay has worn Batman’s all-yellow Green Lantern deterrent suit, his streamlined New 52 design, a pirate Batman look, and more, while Brian exclusively wears the iconic hockey mask of Crystal Lake’s psycho killer, at least for the time being.

Detective Comics #1084, featuring glass shards and Batman yelling, very angry

A character who has crossed over into more than a few non-DC worlds over the years, Batman has teamed up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, fought alongside the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, fought against Xenomorphs and Predators, and more recently, battled Godzilla and Kong with the rest of the Justice League. Meanwhile, Jason has mainly stuck to crossovers featuring other horror icons, like Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger, Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leatherface, and Evil Dead’s Ash, and has even been featured in Mortal Kombat X as a playable DLC character who isn’t afraid to spill some blood.

In a photo shot by @horrorhound, then edited by @pixelens._, All-Star Cosplay’s Batman and Brian’s Jason are shown going toe-to-toe as a fire rages around them, threatening to swallow them whole. Dressed in a more traditional-looking batsuit, All-Star Cosplay aims a fist at Jason to intimidate him, only for this machete-wielding monster to ready his own weapon for a strike that will undoubtedly be a killing blow. To make this image even better, fans can see Jason holding the severed head of Freddy Krueger, officially making this particular version of Jason the version from 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason film!

Freddy Vs Jason

It’s easy to assume Batman would find a way to triumph over Jason — especially when given enough prep time — but fans shouldn’t count Jason out. Not only has this slasher icon cheated death more than once, but considering Batman only aims to disable, Jason holds the advantage, since he will never stop coming for Batman, no matter what Bruce throws at him. Batman and Jason Voorhees deserve a proper battle in comics, so hopefully, after seeing All-Star Cosplay (@all_starcosplay) and Brian Lee Smith (@bleedingbrian) go at it, DC will have no choice but to make this crossover a reality.
