Bad Sisters – 10 Movies & TV Shows Where You’ve Seen The Cast

Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters is the latest comedy by Sharon Horgan, the creator and actor behind comedies like Pulling and Divorce. Debuting in August, Horgan gets to explore dark comedy roots with a show set around a close family of Irish sisters who find themselves in a web of lies and deceit as they plan to kill a particularly misogynistic member of the household.

Garnering positive reviews for its plot and ensemble, the show is bound to make viewers check out more screen credits that the cast has been involved in. This leads to a diverse watchlist that includes mainstream Netflix shows, French satirical comedies, and recent A24 dramas.

Bad Sisters – 10 Movies & TV Shows Where You’ve Seen The Cast

Bad Sisters showrunner and leading star Sharon Horgan plays the eldest of the titular sisters, serving as a matriarch figure to her family. Early this year, Horgan also appeared as Olivia, Nicolas Cage’s ex-wife in the meta satire The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

With Nicolas Cage playing one of the most surreal roles of his career, the action comedy deals with his misadventures as a Hollywood star after he gets embroiled in a criminal conspiracy. At the same time, the movie also delves into his obsession with acting and cinema that comes at the cost of his family as characters like Olivia show. Horgan evokes enough dramatic prowess and sarcastic charm to add some sense of reality in Cage’s life of exaggerated theatrics.

Straying away from the bittersweet coming-of-age tones in the Netflix original comedy series, Duff plays a relatively serious character called Erin. Struggling with drug addiction, she brings drama as Maeve’s mother. Both mother and daughter constantly clash against each other in a particularly tragic storyline that delves into addiction and parental neglect.
