Former Bachelorette lead Katie Thurston and her boyfriend John Hersey recently posted a series of loving engagement-style photos and teased an upcoming announcement that have fans thinking John popped the question. The couple has been somewhat controversial with Bachelor franchise followers, but the idea that Katie and John are engaged was surprisingly met with mass approval from commenters on Instagram. Perhaps the couple is testing the waters to see how fans would respond if they took their relationship to the next level. Or they could just be devious trolls.
Katie and John’s relationship came as a shock to many in Bachelor Nation and Katie in particular has gotten harsh criticism for moving on so fast from her ex-fiancé Blake Moynes. John went home week 2 during Katie’s season, but the two struck up a friendship after the show. As Katie’s relationship with Blake fizzled out, feelings began to grow between her and John. After calling off her engagement with Blake, Katie quickly announced, in very messy fashion, that she and John are dating, and they’ve been infatuated with each other ever since.
Recently, Katie and John posted a series of pictures from the same photoshoot on their respective Instagram accounts, and fans felt they gave off very engagement photo vibes. John shared Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss’ recent “HUGE announcement” tweet, alluding to an upcoming announcement about his and Katie’s relationship. Katie’s post was cryptically captioned, “Life is better with you in it,” and it got fans buzzing. The couple’s relationship has been moving at a quick pace, but it would be very fast for an engagement since Katie broke off her engagement with Blake not that long ago. However, Katie has gained a DGAF attitude since her tenure as The Bachelorette, and it’s not uncommon for her and John to poke fun at their critics.
