Bachelor: Zac Clark Denies Breakup Rumors After His Mom Unfollows Tayshia

Zac Clark from The Bachelorette is assuring fans that he and Tayshia Adams are still going strong after his mother unfollowed his fiancé on Instagram. Though Zac and Tayshia are one of the few recent couples from The Bachelor franchise to remain together post-finale, Bachelor Nation has a habit of constantly speculating over a split. The pair seems to be growing tired of break-up rumors swirling over minor incidents, such as Zac’s 70-year-old mom accidentally clicking “unfollow” because she’s not familiar with technology.

This isn’t the first time fans were convinced that Zac and Tayshia called it quits. Several weeks ago, some of Tayshia’s eagle-eyed Bachelorette followers noticed she wasn’t wearing her engagement ring in a photo. Tayshia instantly dispelled the rumors, explaining that the ring simply wasn’t visible in the photo. She had also sent her ring in for cleaning and sizing. While Tayshia appreciated the concern, she expressed annoyance over the “unnecessary pressure” it put on their relationship. Around the same time, Zac’s love for Tayshia was called into question when he didn’t publicly acknowledge her new Bachelorette co-hosting gig with Kaitlyn Bristowe on social media.

Most recently, as reported by E!, The Bachelorette‘s Zac was forced to curb rumors of not only a breakup but also beef between Tayshia and her future mother-in-law. On Barstool Sports’ Chicks in the Office podcast, Zac addressed why his mom unfollowed Tayshia on Instagram. He said, “My mom is 70 years old, loves a glass of Chardonnay. I call her and I’m like, ‘Mom what’s going on? Why did you unfollow Tayshia?’ And she’s like, ‘I didn’t unfollow her.’ But Tayshia has this podcast Click Bait. She said, ‘I just kept getting all these things for Click Bait and I didn’t know what to do.’ She probably did it accidentally, but you know, these people are out there sourcing this sh*t all day long.”

He went on to echo Tayshia’s previous sentiment that concern from fans can get overwhelming at times. Zac said, “It’s always great to be loved. But at the end of the day, we are in a relationship with each other, so all that noise and all that drama doesn’t really matter. Obviously, it can affect people, especially if it’s negative. But I’ve gotten really good at the ‘swipe and the delete.‘” It appears that The Bachelorette‘s Zac and Tayshia are becoming pros at blocking out the negativity that can come with being a Bachelor couple. While they post occasional updates about their new life together, they don’t overshare, which is a rare occurrence nowadays. They’re too busy enjoying each other’s company in real life.

Many fans (who aren’t spreading rumors) are rooting for Zac and Tayshia’s relationship to succeed. From Zac’s battle with addiction to Tayshia’s heartbreaking divorce at a young age, both went through their own traumas and came out better on the other side. Throughout their Bachelorette journey, Zac and Tayshia learned to appreciate their respective troubled pasts. In fact, Zac regularly praised Tayshia for being so understanding of his sobriety. She didn’t judge and often asked for non-alcoholic drinks on The Bachelorette set. They’re a match made in heaven. Hopefully, they can continue to rise above the rumors and focus on their future.

The Bachelorette season 17 premieres June 7 at 8pm on ABC.
