Bachelor in Paradise’s Jade Roper Shares Emotional Video After Closet Birth

Bachelor In Paradise alum Jade Roper Tolbert shared an emotional video after a quicker-than-expected arrival of her second child, Brooks, forced her to give birth in her walk-in-closet. She and husband Tanner Tolbert successfully weathered the storm that is Bachelor In Paradise all the way back in season 2, but it wasn’t until child number two that they both were truly put to the test.

As Hannah Brown’s season finale of The Bachelorette was airing, Jade’s water broke in their California home. Tanner was prepared to drive her to the hospital, but as she was getting dressed in the closet she realized the baby was ready to come out. With the help of the paramedics, both Tanner and Jade’s moms, as well as Tanner himself, the baby was delivered. Jade shared the news on Instagram, and among all the headlines The Bachelorette finale generated, this one became the story that stood out most in Bachelor Nation.

In a more recent Instagram post (via: Us Weekly), Jade showed the world the scenes from a birth that brought out all kinds of emotions. In the video, Jade kneels on the floor of her closet, holding her newborn, asking, “He’s OK?” Tolbert, from off-camera, is heard saying, “You did it. Look at him. He’s good. That was fast, are you doing good? That was amazing, honey. Thank you all. Just in the nick of time.”

Jade said on an Instagram post that her daughter Emmy is suited well to be a big sister to the baby boy. The mother of two wrote, “Honestly, I was so worried about the moment Emmy would meet her brother for the first time, but she was such a nurturing big sister, already.” Since her initial post of the birth on July 30, Jade has shared nine photos, keeping the audience informed of the healthy development of Brooks as she and Tanner begin life as a family of four.

Social media, and Instagram especially, can be oversaturated with content of people at their best moments. In opening a window to one of the most challenging, but ultimately most beautiful, times of her life, Jade has peeled back the curtain for her fans and shown them that life doesn’t always work out the way it’s planned. But, as Jade proves on Instagram when she thanks everyone who helped her deliver the baby, as long as you have a strong support system to help you out, everything will turn out OK.
