Bachelor In Paradise: The Demi Burnett & Reality Steve Feud Explained

Star of Bachelor in Paradise Demi Burnett has a longstanding grudge against The Bachelor franchise blogger Reality Steve, and recent developments have only intensified the feud. Reality Steve and Demi started their relationship on good terms. However, things changed when Demi recognized a repeated pattern of toxic behavior toward women in Bachelor Nation. Demi shared that Steve sexually harassed her last year, and she has since called out Steve for his unwanted advances and problematic and often unfounded gossip.

In 2021, when Steve apologized for past problematic blogs and tweets, Demi responded on Twitter, stating Steve hadn’t changed. Demi then proceeded to share screenshots of her messages with Steve. While it’s been a year since Demi revealed that Steve sexually harassed her, the feud seems to be far from over. Now she’s at her wit’s end and is claiming that the Bachelor Nation blogger is determined to take aim at her at every opportunity.

Demi has outlined the history of Reality Steve gossiping about Bachelor Nation cast members, instilling a culture of fear where stars felt pressured to befriend the blogger to avoid false accusations. She’s also revealed that Steve outed her as bisexual before she got a chance to tell her family. Demi also recounted how Steve wrote her trying to share something “bizarre” that he claimed couldn’t be put into writing. He then got her to agree to a phone call where he described a graphic sex dream, which made Demi understandably uncomfortable. After politely but promptly ending the phone call, Steve continued to discuss the dream while imploring Demi not to share the information elsewhere.

The Bachelor in Paradise star recently launched a new podcast, DemiGoddess  and in a new episode with her former castmate Tammy Kay Ly the topic of Reality Steve came up. Demi commented, “the last f******g person on my mother f*****g mind is Reality Steve.” Demi said she tried to forget about Reality Steves’s sexual harassment and entire existence. She then explained that someone from her team accidentally reached out to Reality Steve to promote DemiGoddess. Steve then publicly criticized Demi once again for the error considering their past. Demi commented on another episode of Demigoddess, “not only is he going to sexually harass me, but he is going to continue to harass me.” She also spoke about how fellow Bachelor in Paradise alum Jade Roper also accused Steve of mistreating her after Cris Soules’s Bachelor season.

On the podcast, Bachelor in Paradise stars Demi and Tammy also discussed their time on the show, the heat, Demi’s alcohol abuse, and the producers’ manipulative tactics behind the scenes. Ultimately, their shared passion for overcoming adversity and empowering their voices as media professionals overshadowed Steve’s repeated offenses. What’s most important to note is that while the heat of the Me Too movement has simmered a tad, women like Demi and Tammy will continue to hold abusers accountable.
